If you read the vocal analysis of musical experts, among active KPOP idols (except for Sohyang) Ailee is the greatest vocalist of this generation in terms of vocal power and usage. :) So, hail to the Queen ^^

SoHyang can sing higher but just that. Sometimes it comes a little bit annoying and she almost can't sing low notes. Each one has their strong and low points, stop comparing both

If Ailee made and English debut I'm sure she would kill the billboard charts! I hope she sings in English a little more, like it doesn't have to be often just some times because its rare to hear such powerful songs in Korea sung in English.

I agree! She would slay American music industry ... However it's a shame that in America, it's hard for Asians to make a breakthrough. (PSY being an unexpected exception) but I have faith that Ailee, with that voice, would do well :)

Something that Ailee has, not just vocals, is looks, fierceness, and charisma. And she can dance (and sing live, even if she isn't the -best- dancer ever). She can act dramatic onstage. Full package.

Lou Big problem is....there are lots of very good female singers in America already. Unless you write your own hits, the songwriters will go with the more well known singers. Such as, you know, Beyonce, who sings similar to Ailee. Don't get me wrong; I love Ailee's singing. But breaking into the American music industry wasn't going to happen. She took the right route. Get established, then go back. She's already a star in Korea. Now if she could only find a song in English that could be a hit......

Ailee's version is very beautiful. I feel like she kept it toned down to really give across the emotional part of the song. She did a lot of things vocally that were amazing. I personally prefer Sohyang's version because it was more dramatic and had strong emotion. Her vocals on it were incredibly difficult and it just made me appreciate it a little more. I'm not saying one is better than the other. They're both amazingly talented women.

I didn’t hate so hyang.. she is a very powerful singer with a wide vocal range... but, for this particular song, ailee’s version is better... you can see from the audience’s reaction and the song writer’s reaction... So Hyang’s best performance in my opinion is when she sang during Michael Bolton visit....

When the lyrics started reading "every every everybody's passing through this way", I lost my shit. I've been having issues with myself in life and I've always tried to keep them at bay and the lyrics just hit me like a bullet train. I would have literally broken down and started sobbing if I was alone. This song is amazing, and Ailee did it pure justice. Real respect for Yoon Bok-hee for writing(?) such a comforting song.

She's 100% korean, but she was born in Denver and raised in New Jersey. She's in Korea since 2011 or 2012. Her native language and "attitudes" are americans. And yes, she's so amazing!!! :D

I have no idea who she was until I saw her last week on RM and was amazed by her voice so I decide to watch this video and boy it gave me goosebumps!. So much emotion...she's really good!

She is a American/Korean solo artist who debuted in 2012. She was discovered on youtube and is a Big Star in Korea now straight after her debut! You have to check out her songs Heaven, I'll Show You, U etc she is truly Amazing ❤️❤️❤️

Geez, stop comparing Sohyang and Ailee.. Comparing them is stupid, especially if the two singers are totally differently styled. It's like comparing ketchup and mustard, they both have the same purpose but they're obviously differently styled. If you're on AILEE'S performance, the whole point is to enjoy her performance and talk about Ailee. Same to Sohyang,if it's Sohyang's performance, enjoy her performance and talk about it. Don't go in and compare others.
