I think what many people forget is that many of the girls on here weren't that famous at the time. T-ara, After School, F(x), Secret, and 4 Min were basically all new groups at this time. KARA and SNSD were popular but even they were only around for about 2 years when this show started. No body had any idea that many of these girls that were on here became big stars and are now even popular now. You bring up a good point that many of the girls got close because of this show and I know that Hyomin and Sunny are still very good friends. All of these things made IY season 1 different from IY season 2. Season 2 had many established girls on there. They should have picked girls from Apink or other rookie groups during that time for IY2.

They were actually already had a hit song that gone viral in Korea, like Abracadabra by BEG, Because of You by After School, but yes basically not as famous as nowadays where the each name of the members can be recognized easily. For season 2, actually, several girls were also kinda new. I mean Yewon had just debuted although her group is an old group. Bora (SISTAR) and Suzy (Miss A) had only debuted for 1 year when this show aired, Woori (Rainbow) already in their second year, but they were also still not that famous. While for Sunny, Hyo, and Amber they had already established. But, maybe because when this show aired in 2011, it was already the golden era of girlgroups, so eventhough many of these girls were debuted not that long ago, but their fame had already risen in a fast way, so we already felt familiar with them. And also what's wrong with Season 2 was that with many girls had conflicting schedule, and there were too many games&punishments that distracted them, their bonding didn't felt that close. Just see in first episode, it was only the first time they gathered together, but Suzy already had to left for her concert.

TsubasaNoAkutenshi Nah, I think what makes season 1 so special and touching is because it was a first for all the girls(G7), for all them is was a new discovering experience(coz they actually did the works of farmers) and this show was new. Just as Hyomin said on this episode, they are the original G7, they all went through this show's difficulty together that no one have ever done or seen as an idol star. But for season 2 there were established members plus for the new members they have seen how the shows goes from watching season 1. It just feel different from seeing them go doing things they dont know and new together(season 1) than doing things they already have an idea how it is(season 2: for the stablished members). Oh btw the show become famous so thats why all people will start looking up for G7 and the MCs too and get to be recognized. Lets say G7 is a kpop girl group, there show become famous, they become popular, people start searching for them, people became fans of each one of them and their original band and the golden age was make...(my opinion).

When IY1 started, only SNSD that mega popular at the time due their "Gee" phenomenon and Genie.. That's why in the first few eps the production team relied so much on mentioning SNSD.. They focused more on Yuri as the central character.. In 1 eps (I can't remember which eps) when NarshaHyunaShinYoungSunhwa had to put a sign for their seed, The sign is : SNSD.. ShinYoung asked,"Why only SNSD on the sign?" The others started to complained first, then SunHwa yelled,"SNSD!" follow by Shinyoung.. then NarshaHyuna start singing Gee. . As the show progressed the other girls made progress as well in their characters, Started with Narsha "Adult Idol" then Hara "Cheesy Jokes" and so on, also they were getting close on each other, G7 became new "group" apart from their off the show groups.. I think it helped that Sunny and Yuri distanced themselves from SNSD "image" and recognized as Sungyu and Yuri from G7.. After the new Year 2010) eps when they make a wish in their traditional clothes, I think the production team was more "fair" in treating the girls. As they say: the rest is history...:)

ian3373 It's true... Of course, Gee is a mega phenomenon in K-Pop, and SNSD is like the queen of everything. But, actually KARA and Brown Eyed Girls are also a big it at that time, with "Abracadabra" and "Mister". It also made a huge craze about the dance, just like Crab Dance at Gee.

Me too! 😢 I watched this show many times when I was in middle school. Because of quarantine, I wanted to re-watch this show. This show brings back memories of each member and I honestly can’t believe Hara is gone. Through this show, she showed her bright personality, funny humor, and her ability to work hard. ❤️

+Red Pink I totally agree with you. A lot of ppl said the members kicked Jessica out, this may be partly true, but they did spend more then 7 years together, so they would form an unbreakable bond. I saw somewhere that if you have been friends with someone for 7 years, your friendship would probably not break at all, I wish Jessica and SM and Snsd would sort their matters and Jessica would go back to Snsd again. Jessica may not be my bias but just thinking that she just leave like that after all the years they have been through, it is just so sad.

Chingu, we have to move on though. Jessi already left SM and it is really close to impossibility that Jessi would ever come back. I just wish they'd be friends again like SN8D would but B&E products, they'd follow one another on IG or like go out somewhere with each other. We all miss the old times, but we can't go anywhere but forward. Let's just hope that the 9 of them will be successful.

+Red Pink the problem of the other fans is that they are quick to judge without even knowing the whole story, whats important to them is that jessica was "kicked out",let us say its true, but we should also think of what led to that decision of kicking her out, i dont think they will kick her out for no valid reason, after those years they will just kicked her like that. what if jessica made a big mistake that led to that. what if jessica really wanted to be out of the group for business. what if she is already tired of this kpop group thing. what if she wanted to be alone. obviously we really dont know the answer to all those questions in our head, its only themwho knows the whole story, so lets us not judge them, be happy for their achievements, the group is doing good as 8, jessica is also doing good with her business and personal activities, lets also pray that after this mess at the end of this all they will still reunite, everything is possible.

Your comment was 6 months ago but I just saw it today, and I'm so glad to find someone who agrees with me. I've been trying to say this to those who only know how to copy and paste the phrase 'but they kicked Jessica out' blindly. They think that the whole situation was just 'you are kicked out' and thats it but it is definitely not easy for the girls to come to that decision as well, if they were the ones who really decided upon that.

I feel like Sunny is holding back in season 2. She's not that talkative like season 1. I think not all of G7 members had been invited in IY2. Yuri hadn't come right? It's sad that IY2 has a low rating. The thing is, I don't think it's as bad as what people might think. At first I also didn't watch it because of all of the negative reviews from the fans. But, then I tried to watch it out of boredom, and I'm suprised that it's actually quite funny. And I was so glad I found Yewon and Woori because of that show, because they are funny as hell. But, I think the one that really lacks in IY2 is chemistry. The show is funny, but I don't feel like they're family like in season 1, although some of them did getting close in real life because of the show. Plus, they are more focused in games rather than actually working like IY1. So, I guess, maybe that's why people don't like it, eventhough it's quite a funny show.

Kpop Lovers Well, maybe that's true for some member. Like I said in my previous comment, even Sunny is not as "active" as in season 1. But, I think some members are giving their all. More notably, pesonally for me, Woori and Yewon, especially Yewon. I think she's really not afraid to have her image ruined. So is Woori, but too bad her time in the show is too short to show us more. As for the second reason you mentioned, yeah I agree. Like I said, they are more focused in games than working.

Their private lives are so scattered and different don't know that they can connect again... Narsha is married now.. Hyeona got boyfriend and become controversial news.. Sunhwa is actress now with new agency... Hara recently got exposed in domestic abuse case with her ex... I hope they are still in contact and support each other behind the scenes....

Watching the 5th time just because of Yuri n Sunny! Same as u, I still cried... Though I continued watching the remaining episodes, those weren't as funny as before (I only watched once after Yuri Sunny n Hyuna leaving). I don't think there are anything special to attract us to watch anymore... Boring boring n boring...
