Something was off with the woodwinds but it wasn’t enough to not give them that round. The score should be 5-0 instead of 4-1

Alcorn ran from 5th quarter with 5 songs. They didn’t play but maybe once in the 0 quarter. Then the directors acting like they were killing lol

Alcorn has been doing 5 rounds this whole season. and only reason alcorn and Jackson only played once in the 0 is cause jackson state had a senior night and it would be rude( and a fine) if the band played during their announcements

Jackson state been on dawg house rules all season and it’s crazy, alcorn arrangements are always spot on, the student arrangers are talented and young though, they have to recruit heavily this summer. It’s good to see jsu letting students arrange, I thought that was a alcorn thing. Love that let them work on that pen cause that was crazy

Alcorn gives me participation trophy vibes. And they lean too much on the GGs when the band should have the mindset of being on par with the GGs. Some weeks they are good but some weeks they are not. Like what are they celebrating at 28:17 ??

Alcorn ran out of full ride band scholarships, when I was in school they gave everybody in the brass section a full ride, us woodwinds couldn't get a look.

Man what's funny is JSU has added the rest of their band members and you would think they maybe would have more hiccups than the minor ones they had. (i.e. Southern who I love, GAMB) Shows the musicianship on JSU part. The bigger JSU is just as killer if not more lethal.

I'm a Boom fan, but I'm happy with all the SWAC bands this year. Everybody is stepping up in these 5th quarters. And Bama State redeemed themselves.

I always liked Norfolk '06 arrangement of Dirty Diana over Miles. But JSU arrangement was very fresh and intricate.

KB - when your doing reviews bro you have to understand all arrangements are not for excitement but rather musicianship, moving parts isn’t like a rap tune bro just keep that in mind … certain song selections are literally to showcase not just the pen 🖊️ but the clarity in the arrangements it’s music 🎶 everything isn’t supposed to be loud , some songs are mid for a reason !!! ✌🏽

Miles dirty diana arrangement back then hit but i swear the legions arrangement is all the way on point. It sound like the actual song. Jsu version is nice but there is a such thing as doing too much.... certain parts wasnt clean.

Just like with the woodwinds on Tomorrow last year, they always play early when it’s their time to shine on some songs. It’s about time JSU woodwinds need to notice to stay on tempo and don’t rush all the time. That’s coming from a woodwind player myself. 🤦🏾‍♂️
