In this video we explain why we think Kune Kune pigs are the best choice for your homestead!
1. They are small and friendly
2. They are great mothers
3. Their meat is supposed to be delicious
4.They look great and come in many different colors
5. They are minimal rooters

Thanks for the info. We're getting kune kune pigs soon and I was wondering about wallowing and rooting damage. You did a great job explaining. Thanks again! - Derek

You won’t be disappointed they are great pigs. Only thing that some people don’t like is the length of time it takes to get to market weight but for us that doesn’t matter

So you haven't eaten any kunekune meat yet, huh? Hope you make a video about the meat texture and taste. Thanks. Great and informative video.

@@KCFarms Thanks. I'm thinking of raising 2 hogs this year. I've put off raising pigs for several years. I haven't determined what pigs I'm going to get yet but your video has me leaning towards Kunekune's. Have a fine week.

We love them! I guess the only down side is if you want quick turnaround these can take 12-18 months

After watching many videos I've come to the conclusion that everyone thinks their pig breed tastes the best. I have a friend who swears by Berkshires. I want not only great taste but ease of raising them and Cost efficient

We have yet to eat one but hopefully soon. As far as ease these have got to be the easiest least destructive!

I keep Kunekunes too! Which one of the electro nets do you find works best for them?
@KCFarms
@KCFarms 4 жыл бұрын
We’ve only ever had the premier one 10/24 pig fencing it works great super easy to move them. When we put the chickens in with them sometimes we use the chicken netting

Was talking to hubby yesterday for pigs to be our next addition you our very backyard homestead. Then you post this right after. Lol. Another sign I suppose. So like I said we’re a backyard homestead. Would they do ok without having a pasture? We have about 3000 sq feet of a shaded brush area on the side of the house we can clean out. Do you think that would work for Kune Kune? We’d like to get a couple feeders to try out.
@KCFarms
@KCFarms 4 жыл бұрын
Well it’s definitely a sign😀 I think they would do the least amount of damage to that size. The only issue I see is they take longer to grow out than regular feeder pigs so you can’t just give them a bunch of feed or they turn it all to lard. Not sure how quick of turnaround you are looking for

KC Farms hmm. Didn’t have a turnaround time quite yet. Ugh. The homework stages. Lol. So much to figure out.
