The proper way of changing your footage to the aspect ratio of your desire.
I will take you through the necessary steps of achieving that objective and you can experiment with other aspects once you have understood this simple method.
I will not apply a crop effect or solid black bars.

Excellent, I had a documentary project that was in a black box, this helped me change the so that it filled the screen. Also, it was coming in too small a size. 2.1gb, when I was expecting a far bigger size for a four hour film. Thanks.

@@J.K.Munyoki I have one question, though - if I'm using different video clips from different sources, do I still use 24fps? Also, my previous projects were, once rendered around 10 to 11gb, but since I updated my pc and re-installed kdenlive, I've been getting 2 to 3gb - which is okay to upload to sites, but I'd also like the finished film with the optimum quality as a master. Any tips?

@@samhallzeroThe fps you use is a creative decision you should make when filming. 24fps will have natural motion blur. 120fps will not have motion blur but will be helpful in slow motion edits. So use one uniform fps that you recorded your videos in. If clips have different fps then transcode them to the fps you choose to edit on. Hope this helps.
