On 23 February 2021, the bicentenary of Keats's death in Rome, we premiered 'The Death of Keats' narrated by Bob Geldof. This immersive video story is best enjoyed with a VR headset so you can feel you're physically in Keats's final dwelling place and final resting place, but fully accessible without. Recounting, through readings from letters, Keats's trip to Italy, his time in the House, and his death, this will be the first in a series of video stories from the Keats-Shelley House to mark the bicentenaries of Keats's and Shelley's deaths.
Subscribe to us on KZfaq for more immersive (and traditional) videos coming soon.
The Keats-Shelley House is a museum dedicated to the second generation English romantic poets who lived in, and were inspired by, Italy, and housed in the final home of John Keats, who died there in 1821.

I am so glad and grateful to see the events presented to honor the passing of John Keats and the enduring legacy of his work. Thank you so much. I also want to comment on Julian Sands' emotive and powerful readings featured just months ago, which show so much reverence for Keats and Shelley. (Comments were unavailable at that video post.)

A lovely video -- notwithstanding the anachronistic choice of background music: Frederic Chopin (the composer of the nocturne) was only a boy, about to turn 11 years of age, when John Keats died.
