And when Ravana tried to sleep on the mountain of Kailaya due to his arrogance, Lord Shiva with his toe pressed the mountain of Kailaya lightly and Ravana could not get rid of it. It is said that to cool Lord Shiva's mind and make him happy, Ravana, who was good at prayer, made a rosary with one of his hands, a head and a hand nerve, restored the rosary and prayed to Isan for forgiveness.
It is also referred to as the place where Arjuna performed penance and received Basupadaswaram from Lord Shiva.
It was on the way to the back of this Kedarnath temple that the Pancha Pandavas went to heaven with Draupadi.
It is noteworthy that even Adisankar went to heaven from this place.

They go to Kasi in search of Lord Shiva. When they could not find him there, they started traveling from Kasi to the hospital. When they reached the Himalayas via Haridwar, they saw Lord Shiva in the distance. But Lord Shiva disappeared from there. The place is now known as Kuptakasi.
The Pandavas reached Gaurikund, a place in the Himalayan valley, from Kuptakasi, determined not to return without seeing Lord Shiva.
Pandavas roam the Himalayan forests in search of Lord Shiva. When they were exhausted and resting, Lord Shiva disappeared, saying that Yan could not present the scene in the form of a deity or in human form through Asari, and that if possible you should find me.
Following this, the Pandavas search for Lord Shiva and finally reached and saw the Kedarnath.
