Welcome to Ultimate Survival Gear! Today we have another Keen Targhee boots review and this is Keen Targhee III hiking boots. Here is the Amazon link:

Before we begin, here are the specs:
100% Leather and Synthetic
Made in the USA and Imported
Rubber sole
Breathable leather lining
So, I was excited to review these Keen boots. I have done a review of Keen Targhee II a while ago and I did like them, but felt like there were a few minor flaws. So, I was hoping that these flaws were taken care of in the Targhee III version.
Anyway, Keen Targhee III boots are definitely an improvement over the previous version, in my opinion. To my preference, they were more comfortable and a better fit. I also liked the fact that they are a bit narrower. Are these the best hiking boots? Well, I would not say the best, but they can make it to the top 20 list for sure.

That strap you said you didn't like is actually a heal hook for hiking, it's supposed to be cinched up with the laces for a secure fit & there's no chance of a branch getting under. It's not for design its there for purpose even doubling as a safety reflector

Thanks for the review. Only Keen has the anatomical shape that delivers ultimate comfort. I will pass on the Salomons. I have a pair of Targhee III on order.

Are these boots true to size? I'm a size 11 US in Nike, should I buy 11 in Keen?

I have these; they're decent for very mild trails. But, I don't wear them for hiking. I consider these trail walking shoes. The curved part of the sole in front of the heel is slippery. The reflective parts would be bad for survival. I've had a few pairs of Keens. I like the large toe box and protection, but overpriced, in my opinion.

The Targhee 3 waterproof are $63 on the website right now. 60% off then another 10% off. For some reason it is not charging tax either.
