I’d honestly prefer if facilities were designed in such a way that nobody needs to expose their genitalia in locker rooms or change spaces. There should be a privacy curtain or door for shower stalls and changing rooms. Also there should be more spaces that allow for privacy. Most change rooms I use have perhaps 3 curtained changing stalls and the showers are usually just open in one shared space. As I don’t love changing in the open, I usually wait a long while for a change stall to open up (I wait until families with kids or folks needing the assistance of an aide etc to use the change spaces first if present). If a third space is available, many folks would choose that. I don’t know the specifics of this incident so I can’t speak directly. I can only say that when I’ve looked closer at similar situations, the individual in question is simply trying to use the facilities for their intended purpose (showering, changing, using the toilet) and get on with their day. Please be cautious about making assumptions about other people. There have already been enough butch or gender-queer women who have been harassed out of supposed female-only spaces because of their appearance, clothing, or hairstyle. It’s weird having women chasing out other women to… protect women.
