Judge Mathis

Күн бұрын

The plaintiff, a comedian, says the defendant falsely accused her of stealing jokes, so she’s suing for defamation of character. The defendant, also a comedian, alleges the plaintiff does have a reputation for stealing jokes, and he’s countersuing her for defamation of character because she badmouthed him online.

Something is WRONG with the defendant. Poor impulse control and saying whatever comes to mind does not make you a comedian. This case was hostile and too drawn out. JM was a lil harsh to the plaintiff & that’s partially why he dismissed the case. He knew he went too far.

we must have been watching two different cases because thats not how i saw it at all . the plaintiffs had no mannerisms of a comedian and the defendant actually spoke like a comedian and had the mannerisms of a comedian because he has been actually doing it for so long . if anything the judge was not harsh enough on the plaintiff , she seemed very mean and vindictive and she probably does steal jokes because a person like her does not naturally think up jokes like a true comedian .

Yeah I couldn't figure out why JM was so harsh with the defendant. It was odd. Almost like something happened that they edited out, so we don't have the full story. I can't believe he let the defendant get away with all that foolishness and then was so extra toward the plaintiff. Odd.

If the plaintiff received permission to use the jokes that she was using, then the defendant definitely defamed her by saying that she stole them, it doesn't matter how big she is or not, that still hurts her character
@fwillis911

She hurt her own character by simply having the desire to want to use another comic's joke. Unless you have a ghost writer on your payroll, no quality comedian should ever think that using someone else material is positive for your career.
