One of my favorite solo artists of all time. She isn’t actually featured in this video, but this entire album is amazing. I totally get the tribal feel, especially with the wood flute near the end. She’s also one half of my all time favorite band, The Knife. They are a brother/sister duo from Sweden. Great pick!

I am not sure you have played Fever Ray before, but I have certainly suggested her a lot. This song is like a lullaby to me. Many nights it is the last video I watch before I turn off youtube and go to bed. There is something in it that you winds me completely down. For further study I suggest "When I grow up", "If I had a heart" and "Seven".

This is so good! Fever Ray (from Sweden) is the solo project of Karin Dreijer. Her song "If I Had A Heart" was used as the theme tune for the "Vikings" TV series. You recently reacted to "What Else Is There" by Norwegian band Röyksopp where she was the guest vocalist, so that's probably why you thought she sounded familiar. As is often the case with her, she is not the girl appearing in the video. Karin is also one half of the duo The Knife, the other half being her brother Olof. In 2010 they played Fever Ray as background music at the U2 concert in Vienna. The song was “Triangle Walk” and i instantly loved it. You should listen to, it’s great

In case you decide to continue with Fever Ray, you should probably start with the compositions from the first album only (like this one). The newer stuff is different as in sound, texture, vocals, lyrics, etc. So it seems appropriate to not mix them, otherwise it will sound very incoherent from track to track. You mentioned that her voice sounds familiar - yup, that's Karin Dreijer - the same vocalist from Royksopp - What else is there (and also This must be it).

Fever Ray is an incredible artist. One of my favorites of all time! And i agree that it does sound primal and tribal, this album in particular has that vibe throughout. Id love to see more reactions from it like maybe When I Grow Up, If I Had A Heart, Triangle Walks and my personal favorite deep cut, Dry and Dusty!
