Are you apologising, because it's too long or too short? Because it feels a little rushed to me. What actually is the benefit of using trucks/more trucks for supply hubs?

@@Destragond Using exclusively horses means there's less supply per day out to your troops, in general meaning throughput is lower. Using lvl 1 trucks means that you can get supply out faster, therefore more of it, and lvl 2 trucks uses the same logic. Horses < Trucks 1 < Trucks 2.

Guys the best tip is: transport planes are OP, 100 planes can probably supply your entire army even if they are with 0 supply, its broken as it got buffed

Yeah... it used to be like 2 supply for 100 planes, but now it seems to be A LOT more.

Firstly it's not broken, secondly build planes. Don't skimp out on planes! And transport planes won't be a problem for you

Nah, it's a shit strategy. You could always use transport planes to supply your troops. They're expensive asf (180 cost), and you need thousands of them to supply certain regions...

Even if i ban allied supply on my frontline the ai still seems to stack divisions on my frontline. This is usually not a problem but they tend to reinforce their undersupplied divisions to my battles

It's really confusing to a lot of players that building railways doesn't distribute supply, when you'd think the train could be parked and supplies offloaded, etc.

I wish they included horses in the supply options as something you could produce like trucks . Horses played a crucial role in china, barbarossa. Of all the nations only the us was able to fully motorize all aspects of their armies

1:11 It might be useful to have rails behind and along the front for redundancy (if one side of the hub gets cut off you have the other side connected to the capital) and strategic redeployment also uses rails now.

I learned two additional ways to upgrade railways! Thanks! On that note, you can also upgrade your rail lines by selecting railroads in the construction tab, then retracing over your existing lines!

Air supply is getting nerfed hardcore next update so don't rely on it too much According to the open beta patch: "Air supply now grants 0.2 supply per plane at 100% mission efficiency, from 1.2" and "Air Supply mission fuel costs increased by 50%"

I don't think so I think it is amount since when I looked at it has a range thing but it didn't increase when I switched from horse to truck

Great point! A higher motorization level will give you a little bit more range and more supply from that hub if it's available. You can hover over the provinces in the map mode and see the difference.

Also you can select type of supply from hub - horses or trucks - in the army commader menu, so all hubs supplying divisions will automatically switch, rather than doing it manually for each hub

It's also worth noting that being on low supply is now nowhere near as crippling as it was in pre-Barbarossa, and is now downright expected in any large concentration of military force. I don't really have anything else to add here - but as you might be able to tell from the comments, supply planes are _currently_ completely broken, being able to supply millions of men from inside the pocket they're in.

I cannot recommend transport planes enough for supply, I was playing Germany, allied Russia and Japan and helped Japan fight China and used transport planes to supply my units ( dankus did a video on it) zero supply issues I was suffering less attrition than the Chinese and I was on the other side of the planet from my capital

There should be an option to move your capital at a hefty stability and war support cost. This should prevent encircling ones capital and then bleeding their supply dry, feels a bit too gamey

You can manually change the "supply capital" on the hub menu. The only cost is that for a few days you may have some supply shortages.

With ports acting as supply hubs, if their connected by railway they don’t use convoys or need to have controlled sea, so universally you want to use ports.

The only real big disadvantage is that's another tile you have to garrison in the event of naval invasions.

If anyone can help, when the Allies went to war against the Soviets in 1950, the 400+ divisions in Western Europe were eating up all the supply, and as soon as I placed my troops along that frontline, they immediately began hemorrhaging supplies. I was playing in the United States, and I'm aware of the "turn off supplies to allies" button, but it did not appear to do anything. Do I need to build my own supply hubs in France and then have to carry the supplies over from Washington to France/Western Europe?

Great vid - I love it! However it does however not touch on my biggest headache on the topic. Controlling which ports are being used, tactics for stearing routes in certain water tiles AND - most of all - a set of rules or a checklist to find out why on earth a port refuses to restablish connection to the system. I still don't understand the new supply system... sorry :)

@Pydgin thank you, very informative and brief. Do Ports need Supply Hubs built at them to provide supply in any way? Is there a way to ruin airfields like scorched earth? How about air dropped supplies?

1) Ports will act like supply hubs. If they're connected by rail it'll usually follow that path. Otherwise supply will come via sea. 2) There isn't any way of destroying your own airports, as far as I know but you can use strat bombers to target enemy ones. 3) You can air drop supplies with transport planes, they're not super effective in low numbers, so you'll need lot, about 100 per division (it depends), however they can be useful in giving you a little extra supply in some of the tricky spots. I generally don't build them unless I'm using paratroopers as well because they're quite expensive.

Supply travels from the capital to a hub and then by horse or truck from the hub. Railroad to the front line doesn't help. needs to be hub to hub, or at least to a port.

I tried building infrastructures where my divisions are and they're still surffering from attrition. Im also producing a lot of equipment for my divisions but still attrition is the problem. What can be the cause? This happened after i sent a war goals to Soviet union

left is allied support, middle upgrades the railroad, right is motorized. Motorized uses trucks to extend the range of the supply hub.

I'm trying to understand the numbers in the tooltip of the supply status of my divisions in the field, but I don't understand. What is the connection with the colour of the map the numbers in the tooltip? What does it mean the state has 3.40 supply? How much divisions can that supply? How do you plan around supply with these numbers? Are there steps I can take to reduce supply use, like upgrading the reliability of my tanks or adding support battalions to my divisions? (kinda hoping you could maybe do a more in depth tutorial about supply or show how to use the numbers of the tooltip in a video :) )

If you look at the division template, it'll show you it's supply use. You can add logistics companies to your divisions to reduce their supply. It's good to commit the supply use number of your tank divisions to memory and just check how many you can push with.

@@Pydgin Can you make a video going over the math of how things work? As far as I can tell Leningrad shouldn't be out of supply at the start of the game but is anyway with only 2 units on it? The tooltips aren't very help imo.
