@@Anushka20037 it depends on the environment your breathing in. but a way to tell it's no good anymore it's when the pink filter changes into a dirty colour or hard to breathe thro. for the cartridges it's when you can smell something like a scent since they are activated charcoal they'll not last long compare to the pink filter bc they'll react to the acidic fumes and organic vapors. hope this long answer helps!

I started out wearing a 3M large but medium was a much better fit for me. I wish I knew a surefire way to pick sizes but the only way I really could was to just try them out. Also while you are wearing it, it should fit tightly yet not too tight that it causes major discomfort. You should be able to move your head up & down, side to side without leaking air. To check that it fits properly, you can do what’s called a negative and positive pressure test to confirm it’s actually sealed to your face. There’s probably a bunch of videos on it, but here’s how I do it: I start by putting the mask on & snugging it up, then do the positive pressure test by placing a hand on the exhaust port in the front to block the airflow & exhale; the mask should be snug & no air escape around your cheeks & nose, if there are any leaks adjust the mask accordingly. Test this while looking straight forward, as well as with your head tilted up, down, and side to side. Next you’ll do the negative pressure test by placing your hands over the holes on the cartridges and inhaling. If you’re using the pink style filters, remove them and place your hands over the valve holes instead. The mask should suck tightly to your face when you inhale. Do the same thing tilt your head in each direction while doing the test & adjust for any leaks again and you’re all done. I don’t think the order in which you do them matters, but I do this every time I put it on to make sure it’s actually doing it’s job. Hope this helps you!!

It depends on what you mean by atomized. If it's aerosols (this is what the definition is) or molecules. Aerosols are particulates, so particulate only filtration would be sufficient. Though you might want a surgical N95 or to use a hard shell filter because of all the liquid. If you want to protect yourself from the molecules then you should also use something with gas protection.

As long as it is the same brand of mask, the filters should work with any model, there are certainly exceptions to this, but this is usually the case.

From my understanding 3M uses what is called a bayonet style connection or insert which may be different from another brand like say a Honeywell repirator. But your best bet is to do some research on your own since this will make you more knowledgeable where if your friends and family ask you for recommendations you will be ready to help with your knowledge and understanding. Also research on doing positive and negative pressure test when wearing to see if it's seated properly by feeling and sensing if air is escaping through the seals but if you are correctly wearing it then the air cam only be allowed to enter and egress at the inlet and outlet valves - there are various YT videos by 3M and others showing respirator mask etiquette.

Video says it all. Remember though that when using the particulate filter that the written side faces inwards towards the face. However the respirator mask doesn't allow one to speak normally where the voice is muffled. However their are full respirator face mak that have a diaphragm that vibrates the voice better than through the plastic. But like how one teaches students to be self independent, research usually is the best course of action, since a reliance or a belief on other individuals knowledge may not get one the best answer possible.

There are so many folks that are lost, and so many folks that are sweet. What is the purpose of the inhalation valve on some respirators?
@GreggDistributorsLP
@GreggDistributorsLP 3 жыл бұрын
We are not aware of a respirator with an inhalation valve. If there was an inhalation valve, it would negate the purpose of the filtering. Most, if not all, half and full-face masks do have an exhalation valve which aids in the process of removing your exhaled air.
@xymzk

He completely glossed over the modeling community. Not all of us are painting t-shirts. It isn’t just water based acrylics and 2k clears that we use. We also spray solvent based acrylics, lacquers and enamels. In these cases a respirator is in order that has both particulate and carbon filters to remove airborne particulates and VOCs. And the reason you put your mask in a sealed container is because the carbon filters continue to remove VOCs out of the air even when not in use, and their lifespan will be shortened if constantly exposed to fresh air.
