flies can always be a problem in the summer pretty much no matter where you live. Now you have several options to help combat these flies.
you can always use a fly mask. But they have the drawbacks of being easy to get off. And they don't really stay on well for riding. also if your horses out to pasture you may be losing it a lot. the other methods I'm going to explore our the wipe method, actually having free moistens insect wipes, and roll on. As well as going over how to apply these to your horse. Please let us know what you think and if you have any other ideas we should explore.

I had no idea about the sunscreen on a horses white face!! I’ll definitely start doing that!! Thanks for teaching me!!

Worse is habronemiasis (summer sore flies) laying eggs in the eyes. The vet last year told me that the white gunk is often the dead eggs of these flies. Had summer sores first time in Nov 2021. Learned a lot since then about that topic.
