Wow...this is so interesting. I'm 19 and I just found at recently that my parents are human being and they have problems and go through depression and sometimes they act based on pressure,personal things that disturb them and I can't judge.

Hi Joselyn, i really enjoyed your show, but my only issue was how the topic on suicide was just brushed off, the lady on your far left just did not get it and the way she addressed it was just wrong, her comment "no one is an island"? the expression on the lady in green's face says it all. Suicide is real and it kicks so hard on the people going through it, and is the same attitude like the lady on the far left has that anyone going through depression is not able to talk about their ordeal because people don't just understand them. Please you've been given the platform, whenever the issue of suicide comes up your crew should be more empathetic and approach it with much understanding. Thank You.

I agree with Sandra; the trait of standing up for a friend should be commended; I did not quite catch why she did it though- if it was for a wrong reason then you gently explain to her that she should stand up for morally right things; if it was for a noble cause and you feel she should not have disrupted the class then you could start by letting her know that you are proud of her for being able to tell what is good and what is bad and standing for the right cause- then go on to explain to her how she could have done it in a less disruptive manner; please do not guilt trip your children or play emotional games with them- discipline them with love and use every tough situation as an opportunity to teach them healthy life lessons. @ Introverted kids; try to explore ways in which they express themselves other than orally; for example some are really good writers; you could buy your daughters a diary that you will share with and ask them to write to you expressing things they find difficulty saying and write back to them in the same diary; some express themselves best through drawing or painting or music some introverts like to process and resolve things within before opening up @ Joycelyn thats probably what your daughter was up to; it could be frustrating because they might not really talk till they are done processing- advice is that as you give her time to process, also encourage her to communicate with you explaining to her that the long bouts of silence create a wall-like barrier between the two of you and you love her too much to want that @single mothers; I can imagine how tough it is on you; kudos for all that you are doing and will continue to do

Nice show but you guys should try a bit more not to talk over each other. It's very simple: wait for the other party to finish talking before you 'chip' in your opinion.

@mamsmamma14116 жыл бұрын
Yeah that seems to be a common feature in Africans, they all feel their opinion is more important than the person speaking at the moment and cant actually wait for the current speaker to finish.

Joselyn, u should have allowed Safoa to talk a bit more, rather than talking over each other. She talked about depression, which is real. Minutes later u talked about a woman who was crazy and depressed and wanted to be single again. Nice show, but it needs to a bit structured and well controlled.

I remember living at a hospital quarters as a child, every nurse will chime in whenever we the kids misbehaved. It's not like that anymore. Things have changed
@acheniok6 жыл бұрын
Lilian Afari How come I'm just watching this. I love what is being discussed. And also I kinda agree with the lady in green about only introducing your kids when you have been proposed to. Because God forbid the relationship fails to work, the child would be going through all these emotional instability seeing men come and go from his/her mom's life. Cos they might become attached to every partner of their parent you know.

Joselyn what you did with your daughter was very right, i experience the same too, it works but you have to be consistent, then find a balance..

Great show! It just needs some moderation. Everyone is talking over one another. Sandra brought up some really important issues: post natal depressions and suicide. They just brushed her off and started talking about some psycho woman bi. Please use this platform as a way to shed light on such topics. Also think it would have been great to have a different perspective with the opposite sex, along with a therapist, counselor or some kind of professional to weigh in. The viewpoints are too one-sided.

I agree with June Last , it was educative and entertaining but try to let one person complete their sentences , so we are able to understand their point much clearer !
@shandoniaproperties61926 жыл бұрын
Please Joselyn, the too much cutting in each other's sentences makes it boring. You dont know who to listen to. You dont speak immediately an idea comes into your head, wait for the other to end and if possible touch it up before you move to the others. Its noisy
@adesewaadegoke7396 жыл бұрын
yo...this show needs moderation. everyone is talking over eachother...feels like there is no direction to this. All the same, welldone.

Joselyn really needs to work not cutting and talking over others, there was a few deep subjects such as post natal depression etc which alot of women would benefit from. It is a group discussion
@nanakaykay65516 жыл бұрын
The woman in red and green if am not being color blind i think is still bitter, I don’t think she has really moved on. Whatever the husband did to her he really have to settle issues and apologize to her even if it is her fault because I feel she is still hurt. Divorce is never a good thing that’s why God told us not to even think of it. Let’s go back and seek out what the one who invented marriage required of it working. Let’s all do our part in marriage even if your partner isn’t, it will surely work and let’s cage our ego.

omg there are so many things I want to address right now. WOW the degree of ignorance in each and every single argument they made is just unbelievable. But I can see why. Basically, your arguments here reflect fundamentally flawed understanding of depression, the role of a woman in society and child psychology in Ghana. I don't have much time to go through the entire conversation but let me just say this: The guest who said that black women are stronger than other women and as a result always find a way to keep it together..., urmm, did you not just hear your fellow guest mention she had suicide tendencies? If that is not enough to help you realise how messed up your argument was, listen up. The notion that black women are emotionally rock solid is a Eurocentric premise that justified maltreatment of black female slaves and subjecting them to diabolical scientific experiments. So when you say that black women always remain strong, that black women always find a way to get it together, you reiterate this stereotype and encourage men to keep treating women like nothing because at the end of the day, "black women always find a way to keep it together'. Also, by saying things of this nature on tv, you're stigmatising black women who are going through depression and UNLIKE YOU, cannot always keep it together because they are tired of being hurt and broken and being human. So NO, Black women do not always find a way to keep it together. They also break down completely. They become suicidal just like your fellow guest said. And they need help. The cultural climate of the country basically fosters depression and you need shrinks. A lot of them. So please recenter your thinking for this is pretty sad

Well done ...... was so disappointed especially when the host said men don’t like submissive men. Young girls watch this and they go into marriage with all sorts of attitudes leading to divorce then they become single mothers. Only God knows what really happens to them at night. Beautiful ladies but shallow minded.
@aseyediaba44794 жыл бұрын
Margaret Nelson submissiveness is not a yard stick for a successful marriage. And that is the problem with our concept of marriage.

@ghanaianlifestyle16346 жыл бұрын
there's nothing wrong with being emotional. it's actually good to show emotions. Keeping it all bottled up is what's caused her to have those suicidal tendencies. we're told to keep it together for the kids. don't we all need someone to help us snap out of our funk? I love Dzifa's exuberance

Interesting show but please don't generalize things, like men don't like submissive women ,men are never satisfied. It is not all men and maybe you haven't met any yet who are the opposite so it is unfair to generalize based on your own experiences and try and let other people think in that way. Your experiences are not the summation of all reality so don't generalise

You have to change your mind now Jose, some men didn't have mothers' figures in their lives and would want a loving and caring woman. Total submission isn't good though, it can lead to bullying and a form of control.

@dennisbaader53786 жыл бұрын
After watching this I just realized the host got herself a bunch of females who have failed to work on their flaws and lives and are actually talking out of hatred and their own experiences. If by any chance you got involved with irresponsible men doesn't mean all men are the same. First all of you guy's are hypocrites cos you wished inside you that you could have wonderful families just like other successful marriages but because of your pride and stupid attitude you can't get the right men your way . You guy's should work on yourself rather than talking about Men like their the cos of your own flaws. Do You think if the world was full of single mother's like yourself it would have a been better place for all of us. The same way you couldn't get pregnant all by yourself means your children need a father in their life . That's how God made it and you can't change it . Stop feeling proud about your life and talking nonsense about Men. If you were stupid enough to get pregnant with a stupid man doesn't mean all men are the same . Be wise and be humble. Look for something better to talk about so the young ladies can learn from you not this pride nonsense talk
