I honestly think that these wonderful jams will go down in history as some of the finest examples of the use of Hardware synths !!!! The structure and melodic electronica that you design are simply out of this world, !!!! Thank you Ehsan for your Gift to us aspiring musicians who strive to make music even close to this 😊😊😊😊❤jaffa jenkins dawless jams

Youve got a great body of work there Ehsan. Trying to get my own jamming channel going and seeing this gives an appreciation for the inventiveness required to make a compelling jamming channel- i have the Octatrack and analog keys so similar setup but tempest instead of peak- that said the peak looks and sounds great.

Great track, looks like you're getting the hang of your new Elektrons. Could you go a walk through of your setup just like you did with the Circuits/Peak/Digitakt? And it looks like you love the Peak's stock screen protector :P

Very nice. I'm thinking of expanding my elektron arsenal. I was even thinking of looking at other manufacturers for the drums, but the more I get to know about the Rytm, the more I want it. These drums sound super slick as well. Are they samples you added yourself or do they come with the octatrack?
@user-sf6fm9xm3q6 жыл бұрын
Wonderful set as usual. What do you prefer to be heart of your setup - Digitakt or Octatrack? I can't choose. I need sample based drum module + midi to control some synths.

If I want to get into this type of stuff, what electronics should I start with? I have an ableton push 1. Was thinking of getting something like the 0-coast. Really I want to be as far away from computers as possible. Shouldnt have got a Push :S

man that was brilliant...enjoyed the whole piece, extremely well done, evolving and fun. Would you share a few words on how you did that? setup wise: what is doing what, etc...? would appreciate it. Thans for sharing.
@EhsanGelsi6 жыл бұрын
Thank you mate, appreciate the kind words! Absolutely happy to explain how I put this together - it's super simple. Each instrument is just run into the little mixer at the top right - basic drum samples and sequencing the Peak from the Octatrack, pads from the Peak, and basses and mono sounds from the A4 - acid from the TB-03 :) One MIDI chain starting at the OT feeds through everything. All up I have 5 channels of sequenced voices plus the 303. Check out my HOW? video on my channel to get a rundown on how I structure the tunes - same deal here, just a slightly different setup. Any questions, hit me! :)

Ehsan Gelsi Ehsan Gelsi hey again, checked the other video out: very nice, thanks. I keep coming at this, really inspiring. Looking into the Octatrack(already own an analog keys and Heat) but got a little scared about its complexity, is that really so? Not afraid of menu diving but don’t want to spend too much time on that either until loosing interest. I know that it can do a lot of stuff though. Is it possible to maybe integrate it with my modular? Would you recommend mki or mkii ...quite a price difference there and apparently the differences are mostly esthetic. Thanks for everything again

What is your definition of simple sir? This is amazing and complex. Congrats.
@EhsanGelsi6 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude. I mean a simple setup in the grand scheme of things, and it all came together very easily for me! I think I managed to write this whole little set in a day. I have a strong habit of overcomplicating everything and killing the inspiration spark in the process!

Cool vid. I like Beethoven over there digging the show, on the left. How can I plug my Moog DFAM and Lifeforms 201 ( eurorack modular synthesizer ) into the Octatrack mk2?
@EhsanGelsi6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Top points for calling LVB - most people guess it's Dr Who! You can connect it all however you like! Probably a MIDI THRU Splitter box so OT->THRU BOX->Mother & 201 and then run the two synths back into the OT and set up a couple of Thru tracks. Then, mix, rinse, techno, repeat!
@aidanvinum6 жыл бұрын
Ehsan Gelsi Thanks for the reply. Oh, boyyyy. I’m such a novice...all that sounds technical. :(

How do you find the Octatrack vs the Digitakt? Has it essentially replaced the Digitakt for you?

Hey, do you prefer the Peak or the Analog fours sound? I know there is a lot to the Elektron box but if you just compared the sound do you think its as good as the Peak?
@EhsanGelsi5 жыл бұрын
Hey man, so I don't get into this new synth mania thing where each instrument is measured by it's relative betterness or worseness to each other instrument - in the same way that a Stratocaster isn't better than a Les Paul, the decision is based on what we as musicians want to achieve with our sound and our instrument. Peak is a mono timbral 8 voice, A4 is a 4 voice mono/poly multi timbral with that elektron sequencer - one's a horse and one's giraffe. They don't compete, they compare. My advice? Change your thinking from a competitive view to a collaborative one and you'll be able to find what's best for you :) hope that helps!
@findjonmoses5 жыл бұрын
Cool cool, thats good advice actually. I have to say I really dig the Elektron so might have to just go for it. Thanks very much for the wisdom :)

Are you using the arranger feature of the Octatrack?
@EhsanGelsi6 жыл бұрын
I'm not! I 'skipped' that part of the manual so far. Should I use it? :)
@ogasi17986 жыл бұрын
Ehsan Gelsi yes, it's very good for live work if you're running several synths and if you need things like scenes attached to patterns or tempo changes etc, you can still jam away like mad and halt the manager if you decide. Well worth learning, very easy.
