When I went through basic in the 70's I developed painful bursitis in both knees from so much marching. At sick call I was treated with cortisone shots under both knee caps - not pleasant, but it did the trick after a few days. Got a 5-day duty excuse - no marchig or standing, no PT and I missed the obstacle course twice. I picked up where I left off after day 5 and completed basic training without being held back.

I was at Keesler around 6/81 to 2/82 to cross train into 2E2x1. My experience was different as I was an E-4 so I was housed in a BAQ style dorm. Just be on time to class and no one cared what I did on my off time. Spent Xmas./New years on base so I had to be available to serve as support for new Airman on "campus" who where not traveling anywhere. In other words, supervise work details to keep them occupied during the day. Biloxi was a nice place to spend the winter in.

Yeah, pretty sure you were having "heart palpitations "in regards to the heart-beat/heart-stop issue (highly harmless and can be induced by anxiety or whatever unknown reason).This first happened to me when I was 18, and I was also placed on an EMT monitor. I'm now in my 20s and still get them every now and then- but not as bad compared to the past.

I've also been studying for the Security+ for quite some time and debating about enlisting in Cyber Systems Operations or Cyber Transport Systems. So, it's good to know that getting the Security+ beforehand can reduce time of being in tech school.

On failing/ screwing around in Tech School... if you do not accomplish and graduate in your chosen job, they Air Force has two options... 1. I plan on going in after I graduate college. The job I want is an enlisted job and I was wondering if I would go in at a different rank. I'm not quite sure about becoming an officer right away. With that said I want to stay in as long as possible.
@ethaninjapan4 жыл бұрын
You need to pursue being an officer. If you already have a bachelor's you can just go to OTS. Lots of people think going enlisted after college is better but if you plan on staying in you should be an officer. More pay/better jobs and job security.
