what is factual and insulting is that reparations were paid out to slave owners and not the slaves. systemic racism and the white supremacy mindset in the judicial system have blocked and deflected any appeal and have left us despondent. Having said that I believe in Hope that one day we will move that mountain because we already moved so many in the past and this song only reminds us of a task ahead and that reparations are on our check list and to persevere for JUSTICE. peace

In the U.K. the government borrowed so much money to compensate the slave owners that the debt/lone was only paid off in 2015.

I have always loved Keety Roots work and have noticed his intelligence is way above average, at least when we talk about those who work in reggae, because most seem repeat the same obvious things over and over. In this big tune Keety talks about "money" and "debt" and reparation of wrongs unafraid. In fact, when I think of people in the reggae arena who would have what it takes to go further and understand the fraud of banking, usury and the obfuscation of our currency... when I think about artists who would maybe grasp the words of Mike Montagne and his Mathematically Perfected Economy, Keety is on that very small list. The foundation of "Babylon" has always been the obfuscation of our true "money" and the subsequent usury they have imposed upon us for millennia.

"Now how can the sons and daughters of slaves owe any kind of money when the western economy was built on chattel slavery? This ah nuh chip on I shoulder just truth and rights let’s switch on the light, all right? All the trauma of chattel slavery dehumanization and brutality all the confusion, psychologicaly And the robbing of our spiritual and cultural ID It’s on I ancestors free labor the stock exchange came to be Built their vast infrastructure and their aristocracy As masters of evil they divided and conquered So they could rewrite themselves with lies historicaly We want we want we want some reparations Jah know we want we want we want some compensation How can the african and carribean country be in debt so deep when at the time of independence their slate should have been clean? How can the sons and daughters of slaves be in debt for any kind of money ( makes no sense at all ) when the western economy was built on chattel slavery? We want we want we want some reparations We want we want we want some compensation No more disenfranchisement of african nations No more political psychological hold marginalization, no more It’s time for I and I to get some closure and healing psychologicaly, spiritualy, culturaly!" ✊🏿
