This song is extremely remisncent of Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson's Scream and Mike's Remember the Time, with a bit of TLC (via some choreo and outfit choices), and even some Beyoncé and Rihanna (Where Have You Been). I loved this. I've missed Kehlani dipping into her choreo bag. She started off her career and musical discography dancing and I'm glad she's coming back to that. I'm also HAPPY AF she kept Justin out of the video. I wish she would've picked a different singer on the actual song but beggars can't be choosers lol

The drums are from a 1989 EPMD track So Wat Cha Sayin’. Definitely gave it that early 90’s vibe.

K and Justin are friends. Not that he's my favorite singer (I do like his music but not that much), but knowing their relationship, if he isn't there it's probably that he couldn't make it, or at the very least that they didn't find a way to make it happen because of his vibes. There's no 'Imma keep you out of it since it's my thing' shit between them lol. It's sad because I really liked your comment and the references you pointed out, it's a shame you had to drag Justin down. You don't like him? Fine by me. Kehlani just doesn’t make bad music. I love this fanbase so much - so many supportive, kind, and loyal people. I hope some day I can garner a fanbase of similar characteristics for my own music! I may not have as talented a voice as Kehlani, but I’m working hard to get better every day. Kehlani is one of my inspirations and I feel grateful to have her music! : )

Ok it’s crazy how she been in the game since 2014 and still hasn’t won one. And the weekend snubbed her for her Grammy with you should be here in 2015. That would of been historic because she’s the first female to get nominated for a Grammy off a mixtape and is still the first. Than The Weeknd turns around and boycotts them because he didn’t get one for that album a couple years ago and to me he can’t sing and his music is not all that.
