Once upon a time my school books were covered with photos from this place! Closest thing I've had here in South Africa to Keiki is Baggies in Toti ...love a heavy shorey!
@Josh-Kai26263 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, I had a friend who moved from toti to Cape Town, he always used to go on about Baggies shorey how rad and heavy it was. 🇿🇦✔️

that instant in which the wave closes out with you inside and you perceive the flow time to slow down and feel every drop of water in that powerful break....

As someone who grew up taking lickenz at Sandy’s, I can say this is some heavy shore break you won’t catch me messing around with 😂
@alikajohnson92503 жыл бұрын
Yea I'm pretty proud of sandy's but this looks heavier. And more shallow if that's possible
@BigStickWonder3 жыл бұрын
You could take this place sandy beach the wedge and pounders and put them all together on a max day and it still couldn't match Waimea shore break.
@hawaiianseaturtle0093 жыл бұрын
@@BigStickWonder 6ft Hawaiian fat shore break is just a big negative all around 😂 no way to make that wave except hella deep take off and get slammed on the sand
@BigStickWonder3 жыл бұрын
@@hawaiianseaturtle009 your right. That's always been the knock on Waimea shorebreak. Your not making it out of that barrell. That's assuming you even can make the drop which will probably be a air drop. Theres a reason why you don't see to many huge Waimea shorebreak video's. It's just not worth it.

I lived at Keiki Beach for four months, Dec 01- April 2002 and I never saw anybody even trying to surf that crazy shore break. Everybody was down the beach at Pipeline and Sunset.

🌟❤ Nothing More Beautiful than seeing & hearing those Waves crashing down like that. I wish I had a 9x12ft TV to watch this on... If that was me in those waves, I would come up and say "Look Ma, no teeth" Love watching the Keiki's enjoying The Awesome Ocean... Mahalo!!!! It is Soul Refreshing.. When things are tough.. Just look to the Ocean 🌟❤🌟❤

This is a close out shorebreak of the most massive gnarliest caliber!!! It is pretty much unridable even for bodysurfing! If you like to see how much pounding your body can endure then this might be for you.

Is the bathymetry a real steep incline right at shoreline?
@crispypigskin85783 жыл бұрын
Used to bodysurf here in the 80’s after school. When Waimea shore break was small, and Off The Walls was too big, we would come here. Took some poundings here. Heavy shore break wave. The sand here is real coarse, would hit u in the face.

Mark knows 😅 as sandys crew Keikis is alot heavier and thicker 6 years ago Hauoli caught me in the green room. 😳 just like riding a bicycle.
@headmondronary2127 Жыл бұрын
Can someone please explain? I get the conquering the heaviness but it's just a drop and closeout and there's nearly no ride at all. I don't get the point of riding closeouts. As a surfer I find them really frustrating because I want to ride a wave as long as possible or at least ride through the most testing part of a wave.

There are 2 surf 🏄♂️ spots of the east coast of Hawaii North East Oahu 1. Firstly we have Oceanview Bay Keikis This works on any Big Ground Swells of 3 metres plus and winds NE , SE Winds Easterly Onshore Wind 💨 this is a Big Thick Heavy , Hollow and Dangerous Shore Break Wave 🌊 that is between 1-15ft that is only for experienced Bodyboarders. 2. Lastly we have Death ☠️ Point This works on a N - S Swell and a NE , S Wind 💨 but will only break in Conditions 2 metres Plus the Bay doesn’t get as big waves 🌊 because it’s buffed by the Headland a 100m beach 🏖 30m is blocked this is a nice 👍 Smooth ride.
