I found him direct and succinct in his communications on the interview and sublime in his and his bands’ performance of the music-utterly amazing. Invaluable as an archive, thanks for posting!

Trivia: Steely Dan liked Long As… so much they based their song Gaucho on it, got sued and had to give KJ a co-writer credit.

I have seen Jarrett several times. I do not think he is quite the genius he thinks he is. On a personal note, I find him to lack any charm or warmth as a human being. He is in fact obnoxious.

What are some of your favorite piano players? I'm always looking for more music to listen to and lately I've been listening to a lot of Jarrett

43:12 You could say he does have a moody personality I have seen him a couple times in my life ....back in the sixties with the Charles Lloyd quartet here in Philadelphia and also in Philadelphia some 10-15 years later with a quartet Scandinavian quartet

Keith's problem, if you can call it that, is or was that he was acutely aware of the extent of his musical gifts.

Keith wasn’t self absorbed like many people make him out to be. He was absorbed in the music. When you watch him play, it is clearly not a man taken aback by himself but by the music. In fact it is the purest form of humility and selflessness because in that moment, as he is playing, there is no sense of self whatsoever; only the music. He is in complete service to the moment

Doesn't matter what he thinks about himself. Genius is the word.
