Such an underated Singer. Maybe not note accurate, but his tempo and timing is legendary and no one could sing the way Keef does, which I believe comes from being a guitar player...

Check out the original by Little Johnny Jones. Cousin to Otis Spann and a Chess records legendary sideman. He died in 1964 and had no tombstone until a blues charity bought one in 2011. The brits did well though with roots music. Maybe a trillion bucks between them all. Eddie Taylor. Sideman to Jimmy Reed and solo artist had a big hit with this song in 1955 He was one of the smoothest rhythm guitarists ever. Keith knows.

Awesomeness. But what else could it be? It's Keef! I've seen the Stones about a dozen times, and in '89 I saw them in Clemson, in the Death Valley Stadium. I wore no shirt, just a leather bomber's vest with a fifth of tequila tucked inside. There was an obvious family behind us; Mother, father, a son, and a couple of daughters, all pretty young. Well, father was pretty fucked up, and whenever they showed Keith on the big screens, he yelled "Long Live the King, Long Live the Fucking King King!" Long Live the King, Long Live the Fucking King King

Keith...Wasted Elegance...King of Riffs...Glad I got to see Keef and the X-Pensive Winos 2 yrs in a row in LA, 88-89 at the Universal Amphitheater in Hollywood, aside from having seen the Stones 6 times from 75 to 98. Talk is Cheap. Kith is the heart and soul of the Rolling Stones sound; Mick is the voice. Miss rock steady Bill Wyman, but there is rock steady Charlie still pounding the drums. The famous Gary Trudeau Doonesbury Cartoon from the early eighties had the alligator saying, upon the Cold War with Russia and the USA, the only thing that will survive a nuclear war, are cockroaches and Cher. i always add Keith Richards. The ultimate iconic rock legend and survivor! Keith, on the solo Talk is Cheap Tour, with Waddy Wachel, on guitar, Stanley Jordan on drums, Sarah Dash on background, vocals, one of the Neville Brothers on keyboards... and Keith singing lead vocals...just fucking incredible! Still vividly recall in my Kodak memory, Keith singing Time is On My Side...with Sarah doing the duet. Marvelous! And, final notes...I saw the New Barbarians in LA at the Fabulous Forum after Keith's Toronto heroin drug bus, in 1978...with Rod Wood, bassist Stanley Clark, Keith and others... a lifetime of treasure memories with Mister Richards. This recording is GREAT! A real treasure! Long may you run, Keef! Love it! "Better walk til they make me...run!" Damn, he is still a walking, living legend... never will be duplicated!
