Always great how people like The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles always pay respects to the original creators of rock and roll music.

That's how they learned, they're just honest about it unlike so many Americans who stole that music.

@Dora Holden Nobody stole rocknroll. Rocknroll music is American music. Rocknroll was heavily influenced by blues, but the music was equally influenced by folk and country western music as well. Also, where do you think blues, gospel and jazz came from? Africa? Hell no! Blues grew out black slaves listening and copying American, Scottish and Irish folk music. Black gospel music grew of southern white Christian music and jazz grew out of big band music which grew out of classical music.

Gabe Kis He said they could sing and didn't need any wall of sound. The fact that they could sing is undisputable. However, Phil Spector either wrote or co-wrote, and produced the only hit records they ever made. Phil Spector needed The Ronettes to serve his purpose, and they in turn needed him to write or produce their hits. They could sing, wall of sound or no wall of sound. They were talented ladies. But they wouldn't have had the Commercial Success if not for those wall of sound productions. It was a beneficial pairing of their talent and his. Unfortunately, he ripped them off on the royalties because he was a lousy rotten SOB But he produced great records and together with The Ronettes they made history.

Keith loves our ears and I love his big ears. I don't care what he does or says or how he looks. Rock is about realness, giving yourself to who loves you. If you are not fabulous looking. (or even if you are) you better be way above genius, and real, like he is if you want to rock and roll the big dirtball.

I've been a fanatic for years, but I couldn't help but cringe the first time I watched the speech. I thought to myself, "Wow...he was far too fucked for this." Then it ended, and I remembered it was Keef and he can do whatever the flying fuck he wants in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and still be the coolest (and possibly the most respected) person in the room. Perspective thus gained, I re-watched and had a fucking good time. =) The Ronettes should be honoured-a true Rock 'n' Roll induction.

Yes, when the stones came to New York for the first time Mick and Keith stayed in Harlem with them … Ronnies mother would make them breakfast and they stayed there… they had to keep their fling a secret because phil spector was so possessive and very powerful in the industry at the time but Keith and Ronnie did love each other very much and remained close friends until her death.
