I grew up in poverty, and worked my way out of it. I know from life experience that there are at least two kinds of poverty......the kind that affects people who are trying hard to escape it, but are so far unsuccessful for one or more reasons. Then there are those that are in poverty and have absolutely no self esteem and no desire to put in the effort to get out of it.....they are more than happy to live off the 'government cheese' at expense of taxpayers. Especially as long as there is enough money given to them each month to cover their alcohol and tobacco expenses.
