I think the better strategy is to play the whole sword cycle and a bunch of decent one drops. Play a good 1 drop on turn 1, turn two tutor for a sword that’s in an opponents colors, turn 3 play the sword and turn 4 equip + some two drop and start going down on an opponent. Also with all 10 color swords you may not even need to tutor with Kellan right away because you’re highly likely to start the game with at least 1 sword in hand.

You run two Auras in this deck. Song Birds Blessing and the Eldeazi aura that gives him Double strike.

sunforger can only fetch instants tho so you might reconsider some of the cards recommended

Surprised there was no mention of Sram for card draw since he works for both equipment and any auras you might tutor with Kellan. Also Balan works as a good backup since they can cheaply re-equip everything.

Sense we aren’t running an insane amount of equipment and he only triggers on cast. Effects that draw us cards on damage or when equipment etbs will be more efficient 😁 that was my thought process at least.

@@decktechsfordecks this commander reminds me of Godo. I'm slowly working on a list for Godo. Besides that one spell you mentioned in the video do you know of any other spells or creatures in mono red that cheats equip costs or at least reduces them? What I want to do is summon Godo, search out Helm of the Host, equip it, move to combat and get the token copy, then search up Hammer of Nazahn, swing and just go infinite combats bringing out any and all equipment from my deck lol

A cheaper way to give Kellan trample would be Lightning Spear. Also i like to run Manaform Hellkite in my Kellan deck because he makes a beefed up flyer everytime i play an equipment

So as a commander. You use its tutor and then cast him on the same turn?

How does commander tax with him work?

It applies to either side. When you cast the adventure, you pay the tax. When you cast the creature from adventure, you do NOT pay a tax. You DO pay a tax if you cast him as a creature from the command zone like normal.
