Total newly to the sport here. Do these ladies shoot both compound and recurve in competition? Is that hard, changing bows, styles and I presume techniques?

It should be forbidden to shoot tree stumps (The arrow diameter should be limited to Ø6mm or less for compound)

@zenek malenek Imagine the central axis of an arrow hits 3,5 mm outside of the 10 ring. With a Ø6mm arrow it would be a 9, but a Ø8mm arrow would scratch the 10.

i feel like compounds are easier to shoot compared to Olympic recurve because of the magnified sight and stuff..

You aren’t wrong. An individual archer will generally find it easier to shoot a compound as opposed to a Recurve. That said, during competition, all of the compound archers are shooting essentially the same gear, so all have the same advantage. The compound gear, when paired with a good shooter makes for an extremely precise rig, so while the bow itself might be easier to shoot, the compound classes are extremely competitive and very hard to win.

Yeah. It’s simple. You simply have to shoot 10’s. Constantly. With cumulative scoring. What could be easier?

They are shooting a triple 20cm (close enough to 8 inches). The 40cm face is inner 10 to 1 (all 5 scoring colours)
