THIS SONG WAS WRITTEN BY AVRIL LAVIGNE. That is one of the reasons why this is such a great song. The song was written by Avril and recorded for her first album "Let Go" (2002) but she didn't like the song for the album, years later she gave the song to Kelly in 2004. There is a demo version from Avril for her album in 2002 and there is a whole new version recorded by Avril in the studio in 2022.

I was young and serving in the Air Force w a young lady who i remember would keep playing this cuz it was her favorite song. She would play this in the car, the dorms, her family's house etc etc. So much that it would annoy me sometimes lol. Fast forward and we were sent on deployment. She never made it back. I just happened to run across this song while searching for something else on here and it brought back a flood of memories. She never got the chance to get married, have kids, grow old, experience civilian life afterwards, see any of our peers' kids grow up, or start a business like she hoped to do one day. She was genuinely a beautiful soul...

this song was the theme song behind the series that was being taught at this local church, the sunday I decided to start going there to "give God one more chance" .... as I was finding my way out of Mormonism and into the loving arms of Christ. I came from an abusive family. Everyday I felt I never had a purpose in life. They even discouraged me to pursue college coz they think I am not good enough. Until the day came that they forced me to move out. I decided to work while studying. Until I finished my degree, it took me 8 years to finish my college degree but I am still thankful I did break away.

Thank God for musics like these. This song saved me from committing suicide, I was so damaged and broken but this song gave me hope.

Now I am older, have left home, and I still listen to this song when I get down, and want to breakaway. But no matter where you travel in life, you can't run away from your problems, and they will follow you from city to city. Oh Lord this song brings back memories as it described my life back then. I was in college by day, working at Wendys by night...dreaming of literally being able to BREAKAWAY. I was blessed to be able to do that. Finally left my hometown in 2006 and have lived in Atlanta, Dayton/Cincinnati, Syracuse, Orlando, Tallahassee, Louisville, Florence Ky, Pittsburgh and now Tampa as an over the road bus and truck driver for the past 18 years.
