I love a flat footed singer because they can mesmerize you with their voice while just standing still. By flat footed I mean no dancing, no background dancers, no fancy sets, no distracting costumes.

We get so consumed by the vocal gymnastics that people do. And it's amazing. Great technical skills. But this performance is something you can't teach. It's the true essence of artistry. She has the technical prowess to back up every emotion she lets you see. Beautiful. 😢😢😢

THIS! Some singers have a kind of secular version of an "anointing" , that's the best way I can describe it. They seem to be channeling something greater than themselves. I feel the same about Adele.

Keep reacting to Kelly Clarkson!!! I like how you actually pay attention to the voice, that head voice transition is beautiful and people don’t really pay attention or care when they are reacting to this performance.

Every child's song whose father thought that they deserved a better life without the burden of his own children. We all weep when Kelly sings this song because we (fatherless children) know about the "burnt holes in our soul". We are called kindred spirits (wounded). The truth is only Jesus Christ can do the restoration, healing and the filling of those burnt holes. My prayers go out to all of those little and big wounded souls.

As a singer and a mom, the most impressive part of this performance is how well she sang while pregnant. It is SO HARD to sing while you’re pregnant because you don’t have as much room for air. Not to mention the hormones while she sings an emotional song.
@OwnedByKitties3 жыл бұрын
I want to say that I appreciate your kind reaction here. I've seen people try to judge her vocal talent on this performance and I don't think that's fair. First of all, it was a deeply personal song she wrote about her father taking off & her husband restoring her faith in a man (since Kelly was pregnant with her first when she wrote it, I'm assuming she saw him with the children he already had with his first wife and saw that even though the marriage fell apart, he was still there for his children, unlike her father who left her under the same circumstances - sad when you think about it now because they are also getting divorced, I know you did this video a while back, but I'm hoping he will still be there for their children in the same way he is for his older two). She was nearly 8 months pregnant here, between the extra hormones (and let's be honest, Kelly is a pretty emotional person even when not pregnant lol) and it was probably harder for her to breathe like she normally can with baby scrunching up on her insides and she had to fight back tears, hard to sing perfectly under these circumstances. She still did a wonderful job don't get me wrong, but other vocal coaches were picking on her a bit and I was like this performance was pure 100% raw emotion, it made Keith Urban cry! It makes me cry whenever I see it. It wasn't about technique. It was a moving performance, she did a phenomenal job. So thank you again. :)

Hey guy, if you haven't reacted to Haley Reinhart's amazing cover of "Creep" yet, you will need to. It already has over 46 million views here on youtube because it is absolutely great. I guarantee you will be blown away. Not to mention, that it is not remotely like any other "Creep" version you have ever heard. As this version is very different, and Haley's amazing vocals will just utterly astound you. She also has incredible vocals on "Seven Nation Army", which showcases another completely different style voice than what she employed in "Creep", but again I promise she will blow you away. Lastly, she has one more must see, this one is called "Oops I Did It Again". This one is another different style again altogether, but her voice and astounding vocal control and amazing sex-appeal are guaranteed again to completely blow you and your audience away. Indeed, after you view all three of those, I promise you that you will become a lifetime fan of Haley Reinhart and become a Halien just like I am. By the way, if you ever have the chance to see her perform live, please don't miss the opportunity because I can assure it will be something you will never forget for the rest of your life.

This goes to show how showcasing vocals is inferior to showcasing emotions. I think Kelly's highest belt in this song is just C5? I'm not sure without a tuner. but she bared her soul for us and oh my god I cried for her and with her.

Also, she penned this song herself. It's about her father leaving them when she was younger and how her husband now changed her perception about MEN which was RUINED because of the trauma she experienced.
