you can see Kelly brings a large portion of the LA Guns DNA with his songwriting and artwork.. he should be with Phil and Tracii those three guys define that band..

The cool Factor was deftl Tracii Guns he is the style and Music icon and the typical Sound of The Guns ,look at Traciis Cool styles in the late 80s ,he came up with that shit and brought it to the band

Lucky to be in an opening band for L.A Guns in Houston on first tour. Kelly was awesome and was surprised I knew about one of his first bands Sweet Pain on Combat records.

What a cool, likeable guy he comes across as. I remember being 15 at the time I heard their first album, about a year after it's release and it blew my mind! That and FP's debuts was about as cool as it got for me. Plus, the band members had some cool names as well.

@@mr.potter4661 yeah, whats not to love with those two bands. They had everything a kid wanted to have at the time. And looking at the debut albums of LAG and FP, they still get me smiling and singing. I played in a sleazeband in the early 90's and we put "smash alley" in our repertoire, brilliant song and when playing it you could really feel the energy of the song.

Great interview. I really like that first LA Guns record. Kelly seems like a great guy. I usually scoff at these farcical, half-assed line-ups of classic bands (Quiet Riot, etc.), but I’d go see this version of LA Guns just to see Kelly and Steve. Look-out!

Jason - Always enjoy your unapologetic opinions which mostly seem to reflect mine. I'm one of the many who are with Riley's LAG for the simple fact that it's drama free territory and they have great songs -- Renegades title track is my favorite -- and I'm sick of Tracii and Phil's nonstop bullshit. Looking forward to the new Riley's LAG release.

It was Micks idea he is like IZZY the Brain of The Band ,Mick wrote the most intros on Cocked and Loaded and Ballad of Jayne based on Rolling Stones Stuff like all songs on Cocked and Loaded,its deftl Micks Riff and he also played it every live and in Studio

It was a great interview and I was looking forward to this one for a long time. Jason... Always thought Kelly was a cool dude. I found it to be a very interesting interview as Kelly is very low key in the sense that he does not like to talk trash, but you do because you obviously were bringing up a lot of trash regarding the Traci and Phil version.... I'm sure you have a lot of history with those guys and that band in general which brings about your distaste for them.... I do hope your surgery went well and youre doing okay...

One question I would have asked Kelly was after his bike accident how difficult was it for him to get back on the motorcycle for the Electric Gypsy video? He said it was a six year recovery, so that must have still been early on his recovery from the accident.

Gotta be a NY thing, because Steve and Kelly have NO BUSINESS using and diluting the name. Phil is the voice and Tracii is the sound and literally the name. Can you imagine Joey Kramer and Tom Hamilton calling themselves Aerosmith? Or John Bonham and John Paul Jones calling themselves Led Zeppelin? Good luck, the album might go aluminum

I only follow Riley's LAG..not following Tracii and Phil anymore...besides I can't stand that Ace Von Jerkson at all...I was suprised at how good their debut was plus they really are drama free ...Kelly never said anything bad about them since he started playing again...
