Great job Kelly! Your box turned out so beautiful. I think these would be nice for the shut ins at church. The little pockets could hold a scripture verse, encouraging words or quote and maybe a little goody. I think I will put 7 boxes on the inside and a different day of the week on the lid of each box. This way they get a little surprise each day for a week.

I was thinking Kelly as you were doing this, what a wonderful “no occasion” gift, maybe for someone who needs a pick-me-up!! Fill it with tea bags, coupons, or anything small that someone may use. I think it would bring a lot of cheer. By the way, I have never seen one either. Thank you for sharing!

Kelly this was the best tutorial on an explosion box. If you start now on a 13 box you will have a great box to give your youngest at her graduation party! Mom's just think how awesome that would be! Or what a great way to propose! Each box could have pictures of the couple together or things they did together leading up to that small box with the ring!

So fun! I made one of these for my daughter's bday. I had my other 2 girls write on some tags of things that they wanted to say to and about the bday girl. My explosion box was a little different in that there was one lid and when you opened it, it all exploded. I love your idea for a new mom. This is also great if you are having a shower for someone and get all of the guests to pick a tage and an embellishment and you put it all together! So fun watching you doing this!

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much! I tried and tried to find a good pattern last year for my son's graduation and ended up just buying one on Amazon. Now I can fully make my own for all my daughters' graduations and for any other occasion like birthdays and stuff. So gorgeous. Such a beautiful idea. I've seen then with family photos in them too. Suggestion: When you do the diagonal scoring on the outside box, only score the corner squares and don't take the scoring line through the base square. It might help keep it a bit more flat. :: I just had the thought that it would be nice to put a special something inside the smallest box, to find at the end. Then my brain went to an engagement ring, but I can't imagine a guy making one of these to propose. LOL

I had never heard of these but I think it's awesome. U know Kelly, u should write a book with all the paper crafts that u do. I'd sure buy it. I went to Michaels this past Thursday and bought some card stock. I have seen several things u have made and I wanted to try it. Wish this tutorial had come out couple weeks ago. My son got married yesterday and I think it would have been neat to put money in each slot. Different amounts each one for them to use on their honeymoon. I think I'll make one tomorrow so when they get home it will be ready. Thanks for the great idea. U rock.
