If you play on bedrock ad use sand and sticky pistons the kelp grows inmediatly due to the ticks glitch.

Idk which gives more xp but Ik smokers are faster/give decent amnt xp/ Can 2 have levers placed upon. Build a huge piglin farm if u rlly want sum xp! Get from 0-30 lvls in like 5 mins

What they don't tell you is it takes forever because they increased their game ticks. So these really aren't worth it unless you just afk near the farm since all farms are proximity driven.

@UnknownUnitW10 if it's any cancelation, the villager update is an experimental option. It's turned off by default. You can still get mending and all other trades from any type of villager unless you do turn on the experimental option.

Don’t forget to hook a bamboo farm up to the fuel chests. I have an item bubble elevator at my skeleton spawner to toss all the bows I’ve collected and grindstone disenchanted into it and send them up to my “forge”. A big volcano structure I built on top of my skeleton spawner.. convenient.. Now the bows get sent straight up and added to the fuel chest 😂 😅 get every last drop of usefulness

I don't think it is a good idea, because although you can cook 100 items, these items have to be already in the smocker, and the farm isn't fast enough to produce 100 items at that speed

The leftovers will stay in the top chest which you can expand by placing more chests connected to hoppera going into the next chest in front of the original one and than into the furnaces

Whats the point of the top double chest? The hoppers arent going into it and you show nothing of use with them

There is no purpose in the top two chests or the two single chests on the side. There is also no need for the 2 hoppers under the single chests. Just fill that in with solid blocks and only use the double at the bottom, the two hoppers from the double to the smokers, and then 4 hoppers for the pickup, you could condense this build and make it to where the pickup only needs two hoppers as well.

Reasons why to not build this 1: stored xp may be the best way to go up but a small farm like isn't gonna cut it you can get the stored xp twice 2: when I say it takes too long to get the xp i mean it takes long i run this in a world and saw that a simple mob grinder can be more effective than using this kelp farm 3: other designs are more efficient but more complicated I know this design is supposed to be beginner friendly but it's no way it's gonna be topping like spawner grinders and mob grinders cause it's too slow too ineffective and too cumbersome to use These are only my opinions other you can build them if you want too but realize the flaws in these type of designs are too flawed and ineffective you're better off find a spawner instead of a kelp farm

The reason it’s slow is because before that type of exp farm was op. You can see it’s been a good amount of time since he posted this short and now they patched it because before you would get 3 levels everytime you take out an item from the smoker

No, there is a mechanism in bedrock that makes sand fall and any plant on it grows inmediatly it is the 0 tick glitch and only works on bedrock

Notices the kelp producing at a rapid amount...is this using a redstone clock of a Y block redstone torch on the bottom underneath a lever and a repeater placed on the middle block? I've tried multiple builds using this but the kelp wont grow so I've resorted to building a oversized version of this.

What you describe doesn't work in Java Edition. I know, I've tried it. This video's design for the mechanism uses Observers and WILL work in Java all the way to 1.20.1

As a Java player, I can tell you that this variant of the build will in fact work in Java. Bedrock players use a redstone clock setup that will not work in Java without tripling the size of the build to account for how pistons get power differently.

cuz you need do break the smoker/furnace/whatever you're using for it to drop xp. The level is there to prevent hopper from taking furnace in item version.

It doesn’t seem to store XP for me, even if it cooks a full stack, the only way to get the xp from it is to physically take the cooked stack out of the furnace
