Kelsey Mitchell REVEALS What We All Knew About Caitlin Clark... In this video we are going to be talking about Caitlin Clark, the number 1 pick in the WNBA draft and how she is hated by WNBA players. Caitlin Clark was drafted number 1 by the indiana fever after being one of the greatest college basketball players of all time. WNBA players like A'Ja Wilson, Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart and Sue bird are not fans of the number 1 pick.

It occurred to me few weeks ago that if ANY player in the WNBA was justified in struggling to fully accept the incoming tsunami that is Caitlin Clark, it was Kelsey Mitchell. After all, she may be the ONLY player directly affected by all, this in ANY kind of significant negative way. She's 28, an all-star, and the "elder" veteran of the Fever and she was probably the one running the floor before. Plus from the interviews I've seen, she has a great personality, is an excellent communicator, and has a great smile. ( She'd at least be a local team fan favorite in the NBA with qualities like that ) This most likely was HER team. And now FINALLY both the league and she herself were going to get the attention and acknowledgement they wanted ( and in her case... earned ), it was going to come at the cost of taking a back seat to a rookie phenom that she had little way of truly knowing she could trust to run the floor... She'd have to give up her team in a sense. No matter how mature you are, and how much of a leader, that HAS to be hard to swallow. She's handled it with nothing but grace, dignity, leadership, and humor. ( Just check all the after game and in practice media avail-abilities she's done, to see what I mean ). Either way, for what it's worth... she's turned me into a very big fan.

The only thing I would quibble with here is whether she always handled this huge shift for her with grace and leadership. She seemed frequently dismissive, and worse, a pied piper who, by being overtly defiant about being a team player, continued to encourage the others from buying into CC as the floor general. I think it has taken both the many many times Caitlin has assisted her despite Kelsey's iso play, plus the benching a couple of games ago, for her to begin to not only sound different but act differently -- at least as much as she can since she is such a conditioned gunner. She is truly doing some embracing, and it is so good for the team. And, I've notice, she is being much more embraced by the media. Good for her!

She is absolutely one of the best passers in the WNBA and the messed up part is that people want to give her crap because of turn overs when the reality is that a ton of those turnovers are because she knows where the ball needs to be but her teammates can't keep up. She's playing 4d chess with a league that's not ready.

Quite the opposite, Iowa came out of nowhere when Caitlin joined it. before, it only reached the final four once...in 1993. With Caitlin as the focus and everybody fulfilling their role perfectly, they overachieved and reached the final four twice.

@@rap3208 yeah, because there was little parity in wcbb in general. For decades, it was the same handful of programs that ate up up all the top 5 star recruits and their success was reflected in the NCAA tournament. With the latest success at Iowa with CC, they’ve been able to snag some top recruits in the 2024 and 2025 recruiting class (Iowa has one of the best recruiting classes for 2024), so Iowa should continue to build on the recent success. The Iowa program were strong contenders on the conference level, but CC has elevated the program to national contenders.

Mitchell would be better if she knew how to play team ball. If she has to pass the ball to anyone it will never be CC which is sad. Teammates compliment each other and I do not think she compliments CC at all during interviews. She doesn't even bring her up barely; only if asked. I didn't think her comment about CC was complimentary at all. Again needs to know how to be team player on and off the court.

Started taking an interest in the WNBA, due to Clark .. and yes, she's fun to watch. But, with several of the other Fever's players, .. it's becoming fun to see their games, too. The fast break situations .. with Clark in control of the ball .. the effect can be like a team of 7 players. I'm pretty sure that this team is going to improve even more. This "success" appearing to be contagious. Yeah, .. Mitchell's got a good game. She can really move (and shoot).

She made a key pass in the closing seconds of the Liberty game. Christy Sides and Lynne Dunn should get some credit if they've been willing to change their strategy from forcing C.C. to adapt to their system and now building the system around C.C. if that's what they're doing. How will Erica Wheeler adjust to playing only a few minutes a game if that should happen? And NaLyssa, too, if Lexi and Katie Lou get more playing time and Temi when she gets back? That's when a Tspoon type coach might be most needed to keep starters who may be getting less time from feeling slighted and resentful.
