How-to install the KSG/KS7 Extended Butt-pad. This accessory helps tame the felt recoil of some of the hotter rounds available out there.

I just put one on my KSG and it works great. It mitigates recoil effectively without being too squishy and also doesn't compromise how well you can stabilize it on your shoulder. Why it didn't ALREADY COME ON THE DAMN THING, perplexes the shit out of me but I would definitely suggest picking one up. I paid $35 including shipping.

It basically boils down to making money with the upgrades. 😉Also the marketing aspect of being able to brag about not having a bone stock vanilla KSG 😄My KSG is upgraded with the aluminum followers and the extended butt pad. I also got the carry handle but decided not to install it because it replaces the top picatinny rail which is fine if you don't use an optic. However, with the carry handle installed, there's no other rigid mount for a laser to hold zero. The bottom picatinny rail is on the pump grip which has a lot of wobble/play. The carry handle has Mlok slots so you could theoretically install a small rail for a laser or offset optic but the handle is polymer so there's some flex. It would be nice if someone made an aluminum carry handle in the KS7 style for the KSG.

@@necavenue I went way too far with mine. I also have... hold on, let me go grab the thing... The Keltec Kydex cheek cover, the MCarbo shell deflector, the Hi-Tech extended tube selector, aluminum followers, the Hi-Tech Q.D. sling attachment, a grip plug, an M Carbo 3.5lb adjustable trigger kit, M Carbo rubberized grips, a Hi-Tech lower aluminum rail with the A3 tactical MP5 style foregrip, the Mesa tactical 12 round shell carrier and upper pic rail, a Hi-Tech defender muzzle device, a venom vortex optic with elevated stand, and a Magpul MS4 sling. All I need now is some good, co-witnessed flip up iron sights, a good light with a pressure switch and I think I might put one of those Laserlyte center mass lasers on it. Fully loaded it's gonna weigh about 35 pounds, I think.

You guys have really listened since release.. I keep seeing notes about using punches, but I can pull the pins out manually without a problem! I know I'm not Superman, but that little bit of pin redesign has been fantastic!

Actually loosening the screws is completely not required on the ksg at least. As the butt pad is pressed on with "lips" to stay on. The screws do not retain the butt pad whatsoever

Hello I am wondering why you made the new extended buttpad smaller and thinner compared to the one offered years ago? I would really like the bigger surface area and slightly longer pull of the old style design.

The butt pad simply pulls off and you press it back on by hand and you're done.

Do not follow his directions. Simply loosen the screws. Pull out the old cheek pad. Feed the replacement pad from the top and push in place. Hand tighten the screws. As simple as that. Just replaced the cheek pad on my KS7 with a Missouri Tactical cheek pad. It took couple of minutes.

Don't take off the buttstock!! I followed his instructions got it disassembled put the pad on and realized why WTF did I have to disassemble my gun when the screws are already visible? Then he leaves you with a disassembled gun and ends the video. Really my guy?

Yeah, jesus I wish I looked at the comments before installing my extended butt pad, my firing pin fell out and that was a headache to get back in the right spot. There seems to be absolutely zero reason to take the stock off now that, as you said, the screws are all visible without removing it. wtf KelTec?

I was wondering why take it off. I ordered the pad from Missouri Tactical. Same written directions without taking the buttstock off.
