God I miss my old home, the night shots when they are all lit up and the hazy mornings when you couldn't see the other end brings it all back..

Thank you for all the pictures and memories. I have really enjoyed looking through them and the memories come flooding back. I hung around there when I was younger so thanks for keeping my youth alive.

There can't have been any other city in UK that looked more Soviet than Sheffield , when Kelvin and Park Hill were both in use . Ones gone , the other is improving.

30 years ago the Kelvin was full of Chavs IMO, young Mothers with 5 kids by 2 different blokes, claiming every benefit there was and then some.

If they were not demolished, at least it could be refurbished as modern housing apartments. I can't imagine those small student flats around the uni could become if some day the number of students from abroad starts to shrink.

Can anybody tell me what the grey area is on the aerial photo of Kelvin flats is? It's in the bottom right of the photo and looks like a playground. I ask because I own the house to the left of it on Westmoreland st and I'm curious about it. Thanks
