Very nice visualization. Plotting the cells was really instructive in visualizing the vorticity.

Hey! Thanks for your interest, the surface density is shown. The initial conditions are: Top and bottom stripe: rho=1, P=2.5, v_x=-0.5. Middle stripe: rho=2, P=2.5, v_x=0.5. Best regards!

how did you calculated that, do you have a link to the model?

Starts looking like ancient meditteranean art in the end there. ;w;)

So why do the fluids start forming somewhat of a sine wave in the first place? What causes the wave to form?
@m31coding2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your question. This is because there is a small sine-perturbation in the initial conditions. You may read more about the setup in my thesis: www.kmschaal.de/Diplomarbeit_KevinSchaal.pdf best regards, Kevin

So what does the colour represent?
@m31coding Жыл бұрын
The color represents the density of the fluid; thank you for asking, updated the description of the video.

Can you provide more information about the method used?
@m31coding6 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your interest. You may find a thesis about the hydro scheme on my homepage (www.kmschaal.de), and the first paper about this method can be accessed here: arxiv.org/abs/0901.4107 best regards, Kevin

@@m31coding what program did you use? Thanks
@m31coding Жыл бұрын
@@robinsonidarraga9803 I wrote the code from scratch; you may find it here: github.com/m31coding/Havoc

The analysis is based on Lagrange description ?
@m31coding Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's a Lagrangian description of hydrodynamics since the cells are moving with the flow.

Do you have a public repo for this?
@m31coding4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, I am going to rewrite the code with best practices first.
@m31coding Жыл бұрын
I did some minor clean up of the code and it is now publicly available: github.com/m31coding/Havoc

@@m31coding Thank you for that. This is such a beautiful visualization. The use of Voronoi mesh really makes the swirls stand out!

Whats the scoop, boundary layers? Bit disappointing there isnt a L in your first name...
@m31coding Жыл бұрын
Hehe, exactly :) The boundaries are periodic in x-direction and reflecting in y-direction.
