What is your music education level? I am 66 years if age started playing when 9 learned Chet Atkins then played in bands for a few years then worked regular job then back again. I had missed opportunities for example a patron in a club asked me to come by his studio ( I didn't) later learned when looking for lyrics to Bonnie Raitt song when I flipped album over I saw his face, it was Fritz Richmond Bonnie Raitt's recording engineer. Anyway I never learned to read music and use a Kemper Amp, not the 600 watt powered one , but recently focused in Yngwie Malmsteem just the fast stuff. I write guitar driven songs and have some guitar work under thejmillsband st2 boss and more. Can you give me any suggestions since you seem to be down to earth and obviously very talented? like some way to learn to read music easier. I know I am older, but recently got back into ASCAP. My mental block is that I can usually play what I hear so it's frustrating. Thank You!

I’m a guitarist at 70 years, have been in the studio with some of the best, and it saddens me to see the onset of an age where artistry has been replaced by gimmickry... where once an artist proved him/herself by what they could evoke with a simple instrument, we now have fire-breathing guitars... these days it’s all about grabbing attention, whatever it takes, and however silly it appears to the actual artists of the world.
