I’ve not fired up a tube for a live event in almost 10 years. I use Kemper for guitars electric and acoustic. This small unit doesn’t really appeal to me but a more than 4 effects before and after the amp block and maybe the ability to do 2 amps would be nice. I would love to have the ability to route out a WDW setup out of the Kemper. I travel pretty much every week with a toaster or Stage. The unit doesn’t need to be smaller for me. In addition I have NEVER profiled an amp. Yet l paid for the ability to do it. I’m perfectly happy with buying profiles at a reasonable price and I greatly appreciate free rigs and profiles that Kemper and this channel offers. Habe schon einen Kemper Stage und habe gleichwohl den Player bereits bestellt und er ist auch schon auf dem Weg zu mir. 😀 Es wird aufgrund der geringeren Anzahl an Slots und Fußschalter sicherlich eine Umstellung für mich, aber mein Ziel ist es mit dem Player auch ein kleineres Pedalboard nutzen zu können. Schau mer mal, ob es klappt. Falls ja, darf der Player bleiben und auch statt dem Stage zur Probe und ggf. auch auf die Bühne.

I think it would take a while to get my head around there not being “performances”, and I can’t tell if Liquid Profiles will work with this unit. I'm looking at this as a backup option in case my stage were to crap out on me at a gig. It's a lot cheaper than having another stage as a backup. I use an expression pedal for the wah function and a separate footswitch for the morph. It looks like one of them would have to go if I were to use the player. I wonder if there are seperate output controls for the FOH and monitor output like on the stage?

Its the best desktop Kemper model for your studio by far.

While it can't profile, the formfactor and size (and look 😍) is something I could actually bring on the road. I'm buying it as soon as I can afford it!

You can use the three switch to jump between the five rig of the bank? (switch one for the first rig, switch 2 for the second, switch 3 for the third, switch 1+2 for the fourth switch 2+3 for the fifth)

How well would this work with the STL tonehub packs for kemper?

Is there 4 FX blocks plus a noisegate? Or the noisegate takes 1 fx slot?

I know that the guys at Kemper have updates for it under their sleeves, the same way the Stage had a hidden Wi-Fi card, that they activated on one of the updates. They will be able to re-route any of the IN/OUTs to whatever you’d like…

I ordered mine already and waiting to get the notice that it has shipped :) It is definitely a unit with a lot of pros and cons - and that's my opinion - depending for what you will use this little unit. I had the Kemper Rack and sold it, was kinda "too much" for me at the time. This little thing is what I was waiting for, a unit that can play those great sounding profiles at a finger tip, some nice effects and that's it. Of course if you are a musician who needs a ton of effects this unit is, as far as what's written in the specs, not the 1st choice. Same if you need 2 XLR outputs or are in a desperate need of a fx-loop. Screen or no screen? Well, for those using it on stage, a simple screen showing the used profile would have been a good idea, cause being on stage with iPhone oder iPad sounds a bit funny to me. Just my 2 cents :)

I think after having the Tonex honestly I don’t see the a big deal on the issues that people are having with this unit. The company just gave birth to this thing a couple of days ago and people already knocking it.

I have waited for it for a long time, now when it came out, i am not so sure. Pity it doesnt have a screen for orientation. Too early to know of its UI capabilities and limitations without demos and tutorials. For example 10 year old Atomic Amplifire and FM3, both with 3 switches have ability to recall 6 different sounds total, 2 sounds/scenes/presets per switch. Very easy to set it up, but for me it makes a big difference live. Size is perfect, i do not care about fx loop, it will be interesting to find out how good it does usb audio recording directly to DAW. I dont want to haul my Profiler Stage setup back and forth from studio and home, especially since i am constantly traveling between 3 living spaces in different countries.

I would buy it if these four effects could be freely placed before or after the amp.

to be honest I would miss a display for orientation. I am not good in remembering for instance which sound means color red and position lets say 3/4

While 90% of the time, I haven’t and I’m probably not going to use more than 4 effects when mine comes in tomorrow; but I hope in a future update there could be a way to condense or consolidate effects in to one “effect”. I mean, it’s digital, would just take some programming…

What is the current draw on this unit? Would I be able to run it off a good quality pedalboard PSU?

I've never met any guitarist who uses more than two or three Performances at a gig. And here you have 10. In fact most guitarists I know use one Performance and 5 rigs.

I was Sooo excited for this unit BUT it is limited on effect chain / no loop and no Morphing function?.....I can live with the limited effects but Morphing is a game change for me with these 3 switches I need that function :( ...bummer ....at that price point hmmm it should be $400-$500 range with these limitations UNLESS of course updates will change these "issues" per say.

Is sad... after so many people complaining about lack of fx loop on Tonex and Iridium, Kemper comes out without fx loop and with midi over usb... mono DI out in 2023... If you just added midi trs with mini-trs and stereo DI out and stereo TRS fx loop. You could for sure be the number one in the market. It will make people buy you instead of canvas/pinstripe and other stuff... And mono is really an outdated thing, specially for FOH. If you want to make anything mono make the regular jack output... Because this is for rehearsal studios with amps only. I'm not interested anymore in the Kemper Player. Really sad...
