I will say that he wasn't in the spotlight for while since this AWD stang came out. But now that he is gone it makes you really think that this dude was a absolute fuckin legend in all motorsports... there ain't one person that comes close to being on Kens level. Sad to think we will never see him rip these insane drifts. Now all we can do is leave his old videos on repeat while thinking that there won't be anymore...

I had the same experience. Woke up and saw the news. I was in genuine shock and disbelief. It took a while to process it , but the grief is starting to set in now. Rest in peace ken you are a legend of the world of automobiles

I remember a friend in high school showing me one of the early Gymkhana videos when it came out. I'd never seen anything like it. That (and Doc Hudson of course) was what opened my eyes to the world of drifting. It's tragic that Ken is gone, but I'm glad Lia is carrying on the Block legacy, and I can't think of anyone more deserving of inheriting the Hoonicorn.

I was lucky enough to meet Ken not long after this video came out and I actually asked him what the red button did. As soon as I asked him he laughed and said everyone had wanted to know. He was such a great guy, very friendly and had alot of time for his fans. He was a powerhouse of driving excellence and he will be sorely missed. RIP Ken #kb43ver

Fun fact: The red button on top of the hand brake of the Hoonicorn locks the center differential. This is used to block all four wheels when pulling the handbrake. When the button isn't pressed, the handbrake only brakes, and thus locks, the rear wheels, as usual. _Source: Hoonigan Build Biology_

Anyone else on a Ken Block binge? I'm still in utter disbelief that this legend is gone. Ken was the one who opened up my eyes to the world of badass driving and Rallying (like many of us here), and rewatching these cuts got me thinking of the insane standards and foundation that Ken has laid for the world of rallying, racing and drifting. Another legend taken way too soon. So so sad.

I could be wrong but I haven’t seen a video of him actually driving the whole coarse on one video.. everything that I’ve seen was recorded one curve or stunt at a time and often attempted multiple times for the perfect shot. He’s steal an amazing driver but it really disappoints me that I haven’t seen one like the one he did on pikes peak done in one shot

The meticulous planning and organisation it took to orchestrate this is a credit to the Producers of Top Gear, and all of those working for the BBC who were involved in the special. This sequence is the stuff of movies, and it would never have been possible had it not been for a huge amount of planning. The fact Ken and his immense skill and ability are no longer with us is devastating, and it is only through the production of works like this that you can truly appreciate his lifelong ability for vehicle control. Rest well Ken Block, your talent is sorely missed.
