I love this because I’m barely starting prose and now I know how we’re supposed to put emotion in it and feeling.

I really enjoy your prose piece. I think is really good It was really interesting. I imagine the pain of the characters and the way you said it was wonderful.

We were assigned this for homework in our Speech class. You already know this but it was awesome, I really felt like you were their mom and you conveyed the emotions that come with it astoundingly.

I love this and want to do it for my prose piece! I wish you would’ve noted what part the excerpt is from, but great work! It’s obvious you put in a lot of time and effort.

Do you guys think this would be a good dramatic interpretation piece ?
@kendraellis86606 жыл бұрын
You could always try to use it as one. I only did it as prose because I couldn’t think of movements.
@jordanguinn41346 жыл бұрын
Hello, what cut of this did you use?
@kendraellis86606 жыл бұрын
Jordan Guinn gosh, i can't remember. I wish I could tell you what part I used but I don't have the book with me at the moment

What chapter is this ? I know you posted this a long time ago but I have a comp coming up would love to use this
@kendraellis86604 жыл бұрын
Jovana Gomez in my book it starts on page 85 called Part Two The Land of The Living very first monologue about old prophecies. That’s were I got the whole monologue from and I think I took some other parts from others but don’t remember which. Good luck!

In high school forensics are you allowed to walk around during prose?
@kendraellis86606 жыл бұрын
Ella French I'm gonna say no because from my understanding you had a small hula hoop like area for movement but I haven't been in high school for two years and I don't know the rules.
@treasuremoss6 жыл бұрын
No, you are allowed movement of your body, but you are supposed to stay stationary. Soooo yes and no.

1:10 Why did it take so long to prepare?
@sunshineconner12245 жыл бұрын
Practicing pauses, emotion, timing takes long.

could I do this as a solo acting piece?
@kendraellis86606 жыл бұрын
Sorry for replying so late, I legit just saw this post. You could probably do it as a solo piece. I performed it as prose because I couldn't think of movements, but you probably could.

Does anyone know what this piece is called??
@kendraellis86605 жыл бұрын
This is an excerpt from the book called Voices From Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster by Svetlana Alexievich

Kendra Ellis hey I know this was posted awhile ago but do you think you could find the section of the book because I’m hoping to do it as a prose next weekend

Could I use this for non original oratory?
@kendraellis86602 жыл бұрын
It’s been a long time since I’ve done forensics, so I’m not sure. I would ask your coach

Ella French Mine for the competition this year is the same size 😂 But I have small hands so
@ririarevenna28535 жыл бұрын
It's a speech binder, they should be tiny.
@megg17304 жыл бұрын
why is her binder so tiny😭
@kendraellis86604 жыл бұрын
Maliah M cause it’s the only binder I could find. It’s tinier than most used for prose but the judges didn’t care

Which state... the state of the undiscerning? A victory of quantity over quality; and perhaps cut to a quarter the length, and learned by heart might have been more manageable and engaging.
@Kerigen5 жыл бұрын
You have to read it in seven minutes depending on your state and rules of uil or tfa
@kendraellis86605 жыл бұрын
It is memorized, I still have it memorized and I haven’t practiced it in two years. This is prose, you are supposed to ‘read from the book and the length must be under 10 minutes, but over 5 in the state of Virginia. Granted I haven’t done forensics since I graduated high school but maybe you should read rules of forensics for the correct state first before criticizing others work.
