that’s the point of the song humble especially when you consider the song order. it goes loyalty pride ten humble. in loyalty tells us of how being humble is hard and how what he’s done to earn his respect and loyalty. then pride which is featured in this music video kendrick tells us of the dangers of pride and what it can to a person. the song goes through a story with kendrick coming to terms that the pride he’s acquired in previous songs eg loyalty is bad and unhealthy. this is where humble comes in. humble is kendrick talking to himself and everyone else who may not b humble telling them to sit down. take away their pride and the idea they may have about themselves from their loyalty, their blood, their dna. which is why he conflicts himself.

I honestly don’t see them as a hookup couple. . . Could see them married, though. I think there’s genuine mutual respect with the two of them, and while this video may not display the most mature choices (provoking and beating up a stranger, hanging off the edge of a building lol) their dynamic is incredibly respectful and mature. Idk maybe I’m comparing them to her and drake, but it feels like Drake doesn’t respect her as much as Kendrick does, or even if he does, he just isn’t mature enough to express it (i.e., upstaging her award ceremony by proclaiming his love for her, making her feel pressured to reciprocate in public) but I feel like she and Kendrick could be great friends, which is the best foundation for any relationship.

Couple of gems i think people missed: A. In the intro he's blindfolded, playing into the whole loyalty thing with him being surrounded by hoes and not paying attention. That's one form of loyalty. B. People were sinking in the streets and he made no effort to help. Another form (lack there of) of loyalty. C. The way it syncs with the intro of pride "Love is gonna get you killed" which, with this video fits pretty well. There's a lot more, but overall i feel like this video tops Humble in symbolism. Also, I feel like people just assumed all the video did was depict what the song was saying, If you did that go back and watch, it does deviate.
