Bro just released a world wide banger, dominated the charts for more then a week, went viral on Tik Tok, was the topic of conversation in the music media and even with all this buzz, didn't promote none of his old projects, didn't post a single photo or text on the internet and when everybody thought that he would sell a big interview to a huge media group, he went to a college in his home town to talk for a few minutes with random kids there and went home. He definitely moves different of any artist I know.

yeah man, I actually think most of gen z is very understanding and empathetic, we are just at a point where we've just learned to choose ourselves and our family over some stupid bs. We are not lazy, we simply understand we should only do what we are being paid for. People the older generation simply don't understand that.

He’s so right about being able to think independently…truly one of the most valuable tools in life At least half the replies to this comment are unintelligent and uninformed bullsh*t. So ironic that people point fingers at other groups and claim that they can’t think for themselves when they only developed that perception of that group based off of the news that they watch or based off of Twitter or some unverified study that they don’t have the link to. Everyone wants to point fingers at others instead of just considering how their own perception is affected by their lived experiences, preferred news outlets, family, friends, etc. Literally everyone is naturally biased to some extent. Being an independent thinker is an ongoing effort; you don’t just suddenly become immune to biases. You have to really examine yourself and the influences in your life

He’s so wrong about Gen Z being free thinkers though. They may think differently than previous generations, but they almost all think and act the same as each other. Their idea of education is watching Tik tok, they pretend they’re more mentally troubled than they are too look edgy, or they adopt some weird niche sexuality or gender to help stand out because they haven’t developed any skills or personality to actually standout because they all have ant to be influencers and don’t realize the amount of time spent on social media steals them if their creativity. They pretend to care more about social issues than they do because it gets them clout with all of their friends doing the same. They’re basically my generation (Millennials) if there weren’t at least a small percentage that didn’t become pussies. Truthfully I think Gen X are the most tolerable generation. Grew up liberal enough to not hate gays but traditional enough to realize genderfluid isn’t a gender expression it’s a cry for help.

I try not to idolize people or put them on pedestals anymore but man... Kendrick is one of the few artists and public figures that pretty regularly inspires me. I have so much respect for the man, I know he's not perfect and he'd be the first person to admit that, especially now with where he's grown to in life. I don't know that these particular words to our generation would mean nearly as much coming from anyone else. God bless Kendrick Lamar Duckworth

I agree 100%. As a millennial raising a Gen Z, I always try to instill self value and self awareness in my daughter. She has taken a totally different path in life than I did, and is being serious with her decisions and mindset. She always blows me away with the things she knows and believes in. I try to give her the support and insight I never had. Growing up in the crack epidemic on the Westcoast had me learning everything on my own or from the streets. My parents are still unavailable mentally🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️Millennials know how hard it is, and many of us refuse to put our kids through what we have been through. I pray Gen Z takes heed and receives Kendrick's message. Wisdom is life changing. Use your voices and strive for what is right🙌🏾🫶🏾💪🏾✊🏾

😂 I mean… have you ever watched college kids talk to conservatives that go to their schools. If there is one thing Gen Z is guilty of, it’s being close minded, refusing to listen to other perspectives and being so arrogant they think they know better than their elders. They will be the end of our rule as the world’s super power. They’re more worried about looking righteous than being reasonable.

Hes right in the sense of them being a lot more compftable standing up for themselves, but independent thinkers is definitely one that varies. The whole generation is essentially lived over the internet, so while there are definitely some good ones, its normal for them to try to identify with whatever they see on the internet. Personality, slang, dress apparel, what emotions to display, whats "cool" and whats "not cool" all just seems to be whatever they adopted from the internet

@Chaos_is_very_dumb you do realise that objectively speaking this generation is doing worse in all areas such as identity confusion, mental health problems, etc., which in some cases has resulted with such problems as disillusionment right? Is the generation doing good in places such as Chicago where young Black males are literally slaughtering each other and literally have no way out due to broken communities? If there is a constant alarm being raised about this generation is because it has serious problems. The worst thing to do in this case is to simply dismiss it.
