@@thankyoucisco761 knowing they both use them is why this whole debacle is annoying. It also shows how many people actually know the craft. The music industry has never worked like that, they just sold that fantasy and it would be nice if even the casual fan didnt buy into these nonsensical narratives. Just as idiotic as believing freestyles be off the top of the dome. I believe Kdot and Drake are Elite talents but do you actually know how hard it is to make a great song? Okay, I feel like people discredit Baby Keem as an artist a lot and act like he is basically a Kendrick Lamar alt account, which, in all due respect, is dumb and very disrespectful to Keem. Kendrick didn’t just straight up write all of Keem's catalog, and this post is basically saying that he did. Kendrick probably helped Keem write a couple songs, but acting like Kendrick has the time to run two careers is just unrealistic. They definitely help each other. I’m writing songs, and Kendrick possibly even has given Keem songs, and as much as y’all will hate to hear this and deny it, it is also likely that Keem has even given Kendrick songs, especially from the amount of rumors there are that he does. So basically, they probably ghostwrite for each other at times, but by no means in Keem some alt Kendrick account or some shit, like, don’t discredit Keem's artistry like that; he is his own artist, and y’all gotta treat him as it. (Also, there have also been things like Keem ghostwriting for various other rappers, so he can definitely write.)

Def remember you being my first source of Keem and Kendrick being cousins. Giving credit where due though, Drake's reference track for Lil Wayne's I'm Single surfaced recently, Kanye confirmed that Drake has written tracks like 30 Hours for him and he's written for both Alicia Keys and Beyonce.

People forget artists are also humans ... they also deserve to take a break from music and live a life of their own.. drake pushes out song after song after song cause hes a pop star and thats what pop stars do.. Kendricks work ethic cant be ignored.. the dude is a genius when it comes to music. nuf said.

Idk if this is relevant to the topic at all, but I just watched a short about Kendrick wanting to let the producer of Humble keep the beat for it after admitting it was fire. That beat was supposed to go to Gucci Mane at first, but shit didn't work out well.

If you listen to pure and gotta love me, you can tell Kdot was actually trying to be melodic but of course fighting his demons. He used Keem to express himself.

the issue is that we know what kendrick was doing in his 5 year absence this is public knowledge, He took a 2 year break from music (presumably for therapy) and spent the other 3 for mmatbs and also still therapy

I gotta say Baby Keem is his own artist, and has been on record saying he doesn’t have ghostwriters. He did have that reference track leaked early in his career, and I do truly believe baby keem had Kendrick writing for him in his early career. Helping him with songs and all. However, now that we’re more advanced in his career I do not think Kendrick is as involved in his career regarding writing and production. I think he’s found his own sound and his own lane as well as his own personality as an artist. This entire video seems to almost fully imply baby keem isn’t his own artist, and shouldn’t be spectated from Kendrick, when in The Melodic Blue, Baby Keem is telling his own story and has been clearly frustrated with the theories that he’s not being his own artist. I don’t think this video is entirely fair, but I do think Kendrick has played his fair share in Keem’s career. All I’m saying, is when you listen to Keem, listen to it like you’re listening to what Baby Keem made and not Kendrick Lamar 2. They are 2 different people who speak on different things, with different music, and also Baby Keem helped the production on MMATBS heavily (he didn’t ghostwrite, he helped with the production.) TLDR: Baby keem is his own artist, please don’t count him out as being: Kendrick Lamar 2.

But basically keem makes beats and kendrick writes. Kendrick also wrote and referenced all the stars feat. Sza . The reference track is on youtube. It is beautiful!
