I took my exam last Thursday and passed. It took me 45min to finish the 90 questions. And study for about 2 weeks and worked as a tech trainee for a year. Good luck to everyone taking it!

I’m physically disabled and because of it my career choices dropped down A LOT. However, this is a job I actually can do being that it doesn’t require too much mobility (like giving someone shots, or preforming surgery.) so I just want to say thank you so very much for giving me extra confidence. I’m looking to making a career out of this. I see they can make up to $79k a year! And if not that, then around $69k!

These are great tips! My job had a certification program and the website they had me use had 2 practice tests before I could sign up for the PTCB. It wanted to make sure I was ready for the real thing kekeke What also helped me was focusing on my weakest areas which was the math, half of the meds, and the laws. Also, the PTCB is random and the techs I talked to said they had either mostly math problems or meds.

Im taking the test on Tuesday, only been a trainee technician for 6 months. Not real confident but thank you so much for these tips! That app is literally amazing! Thank you so much for telling us about it. I had looked on amazon a few weeks ago and bought that same exact book so I am glad to see that it worked for you too! I plan on going over the book and some stuff I printed off of etsy, and using that app every chance I get. It has already taught me several things. If I fail then Ill do those other things you suggested too like getting the practice tests from the ptcb website. I appreciate you making this helpful video!

I literally just decided to consider taking an online course of this in January. I am up for a change in my life and love to learn something new and way out of my comfort zone. Done it many times in life. I am starting from no knowledge, so I have a long way to go. Right now, I am just buying some basic info from Amazon. It seems this a field that is shorthanded...like pretty much any other business.

Congrats to you. I passed mine on 2016 after my third try. I changed my study habits too to pass.

I’m scaring myself out of taking it every time because I could never grasp the math portions in my continued education class last year. I’ve procrastinated that long and that much. But now my current job is high stress and I need to put my big girl panties on and just tackle this. I can do the basic math but when it comes to finding dextrose and turning mcg to mg, I just can’t grasp it. So basically It’s just the long equations.

Do I need to training in pharmacy before doing the exam or just can study at home and doing it

Need help! As of 2023 Is it mandate to take a pharmacy Technician course to appear for the PTCB exam or appear for the Exam without a course, and then apply for the Job ? I mean i heard that they give you a probational certificate and you’d have to find a job within 60days of receiving it, to get a permanent one!! Need some information on this.

I passed an insurance license exam in 4 days without studying. When I was 17 I also passed a GED exam without studying despite only finishing the 9th grade! So I think once I start my pharmacy technician paid training I should be fine.

Hello! Can all of this be done in a month? I have my test date in May and I only have a month left. Is that enough time to prepare, breeze through the book and everything?

I would not recommend this book. Yes it does simplify into easier terminology certain things on the test like drug classes but it misses common information like dosage forms is not even discussed in this book. Would not recommend it is not enough to pass the test at all. Obviously she has previous pharmacy experience which helped her. Overall this book is not enough context and doesn’t cover everything on test.

The “teaching your own class” is a good tip 🙏🏼
