One of the most elegant, graceful, and ethereal performances I’ve seen yet. Barron always stands out as a remarkably innovative improviser who still respects the traditions of the past. He floats so easily in and outside of the beat with incredible rhythmic control, while playing seemless, brilliant lines that showcase his remarkable creativity. The drummer is swinging with remarkable precision and the bassist has a lovely tone. Amazing performance!

An absolute legend. If Einstein had become a musician he would’ve been Kenny Barron.

I think he would still be Einstein. He would just be a musician, i doubt he'd change his name

Hey, currently working on this and lil error, thought id throw it your way so you can edit the PDF file! Measure 39. The 32nds Bb and A down to the G is incorrect. I was hearing just a Bb there, but I think maybe you heard the 32nds because he actually plays both Bb, A, and G(I think). However, the Bb is the voiced and loudest note in that moment. If you watch his hand in that moment, its something like this. I could be a bit off, but it's definitely not a G with the 32nds preceding it. Either way, thanks for the transcription!!

1:59 Bar 89 tho 👌 Are you sure this is the correct rhythm though? Why does it feel like the Bb is pushed before the bar. Are you sure it's 6 crotchet triplets? It sounds more like 4 straight quavers plus 3 crotchet triplets (7 stabs in the bar not 6?)

Measure 54 is incorrect. The quarter-note triple starts with the D on beat 2. It’s not qn triplets on 1s and 3s. On beat 4 it’s E ad G for two of the three triplets, the third being F# and A. Those are tied over to another eight note triplet on beat 1 of the next measure, followed by G and Bb after the downbeat, whereas A and C are on the downbeat of 2. Just like the last three measures of the solo

Measure 54 appears to have only 3 beats?
@nezkeys793 жыл бұрын
Well 89 I'm pretty sure the Bb is pushed (not on the first beat of the bar)

Good beginning, but Kenny Barron clearly plays with TWO hands, so please complete this transcription soon, thank you!

Still pretending like you can read music eh?

how about you shut the f*ck up and appreciate the fact that this man worked incredibly hard to transcribe Barron’s SOLOING hand and give it to the public to follow along with for free!? I can’t with you trolls that comment shit like this. So incredibly rude and arrogant. If you want a two handed solo, you got two options: do it yourself or ask in a less condescending tone. “Good beginning” when the dude or gal transcribed 95% of the solo 🤦♂️

If you can comp over autumn leaves then you’re not ready to be playing this transcription in the first place. The chords are clearly written above the movements, as is common in jazz with literally every single lead sheet you’ll ever look at. So why not just appreciate the hard work that was put in to transcribing the actual solo, instead of complaining because you don’t know how to play the changes to one of the most common jazz standards in existence.
