just do the same shit with a sampled guitar with some free amp/cab emulations, fron a person who's been doing metal from 2008 till now alot of the free shit is up to par with the paid versions from big name companies, LAncaster caster pulse for IR, Ignite amps "Emissary" and NadIR" are dope free stuff to get some good sounding guitars, just take the sampler approach with drum programming make it sound realistic, or you can just go download single note samples from actual played guitar online and make your own instrument and load those on there

When recording many times I prefer the sound of a pick on a bass, if you already have a lot of low end it helps to stand out in the mix.

finesserphd I’m a professional keyboardist as well as a producer for ten years. I know how to play like a guitarist on a keyboard, I play like I’m playing a guitar, even though my skills are rudimentary compared to playing keys. I don’t play certain chords like I would on piano, I hit the keys a certain way, etc

47 PE i play something on guitar and then try playing it on keyboard and that same arpeggio from earlier turns a lot more challenging. Do you ever just do some “fake” finger style guitar by using basic guitar midi sounds on keyboard?

well, he comes from a generation where making your own melodies was just the normal thing to do... melody / chord loop packs and midi packs have been much more widespread in the past 5 years than they were before.

hopefully he posts more of these longer tutorials. The Cave is dope but it's more about the artist these really help us learn. Appreciate the post. Coming from a guitar player check out Axe, UAD plugins and also Plugin Alliance amps. I usually just go straight through apollo with their build in amp modeling it's amazing with no worry of ever switching buffer settings. Best investment I've ever made was an apollo

For anybody who has Guitar Rig, you don't have to copy the settings. Just pick the preset "single note funk" lol. That's the preset he's using exact same settings. A more cleaner signal is "Clean Single Citrus"

Native Instruments has Guitar Rig 5 Pro for free rn if you buy one of their audio interfaces. Honestly the best deal because you need an interface to connect a guitar to ur DAW.

wish you could do this on FL but as far as i know, there's no volume for the metronome on there so i just set it to the "tick" sound since it's the least annoying/quietest option

Lavender Llama in FL studio the metronome is set to a certain fader so you can turn down the volume if you turn down the fader it’s set to. My metronome is set to channel 101
