This year we visited one of the residents, Eric Farrington, who sadly passed away last month. Before he passed, his favourite player Kenny Dalglish visited Eric to give him a big surprise...

Spurs fan here, writing a comment through tear filled eyes. What a lovely thing for Eric to have met Kenny D and also having gone to the last game of the season. This sort of thing is what the clubs should be doing to connect with the fans, no matter what age. Much respect to L.F.C. and Nivea for their kindness. Rest in Peace old son.

I'm not a Liverpool fan but have been an admirer of both the club and in particular two men, Bill Shankley and Kenny Dalglish, above all, for their integrity, who would have thought from a lad originally from Buenos Aires and a lifelong Boca Juniors fan. I work in a care home and get to meet loads of characters. This kind of stuff just makes me weep, it's a beautiful thing to do and a beautiful gesture. Well done to Nivea Men and Liverpool FC. Been a reds supporter since 1985/86 season.

Reminded me of my old man who also passed away in june. We got to see Liverpool beat leeds 6-0 with my son. It is because of the older generations passion for Liverpool that so many millions are now Liverpool fans. At the match another old gentleman went out of his way to show us where our seats were and told us to use lift when the gane was over he told a steward to wait at full tine to guude us to the lift. I think villa do a vip ticket free every week hope Liverpool do the same. Liverpool fans make the club and so many support the club because of fathers/mothers and grandparents. We have rivalries in football, we have disagreements in football, we have highs and we have lows, but what we all really do have is a common love of the game whoever we support and it’s the passion shown by Eric, for Liverpool FC and the generosity of the time given by the likes of Kenny Dalgleish that made an old man’s final days so happy that fills me with hope that we are really all one, truly connected and united fans of the game we all love whatever our allegiance’s and differences are.
