I was at this Concert/Recording Session at the Sheldon Theater in St. Louis. They discounted tickets because of the fragmented performance, sometimes they would stop a song or stop to do makeup. It actually turned out better, you got to see the process and sometimes hear a favorite song twice. Rhonda's brother was directing the whole thing and he would run out from backstage once in a while to change something. Great experience, great band!

That break by Rhonda is SUPERB !

This is one of the very best bluegrass groups, but I already knew that. What blows me away is the fact that it is actually possible to tell that from listening. The audio is really good!!! On most occasions the sound on live clips is so bad that the listener can't tell much of anything. Brotherhamlet deserves as much credit as the musicians.

Kenny sure did put a lot of drive in his playing, he really shines on this one. He used to play this tune when he was with Lester Flatt, in the early 70's. Also, nice mandolin break from Rhonda. The third part reminds me a lot of Little Darlin Pal of Mine.

I believe this song was originally written by Kenny. He called it Silverstreak. Renamed Road Rage for obvious reasons. RIP brother!

As you are a Banjo player (and I'm a guitar dilettante): it looks to me that playing Bluegrass on a Banjo is easier than on a guitar. Although is sounds better on a Banjo... True?
@manakamar9 жыл бұрын
Thomas Runge All I can say is that I personally find it easier. But the guitar offers a fuller sound when you're singing. At least my skills are not sufficient to back myself with a banjo only, so I mostly use the guitar when I sing.

Great instrumental. And y'all better leave it alone - at SPBGMA a few years back Kenny said I could have it. To the guy whose comment below was something to the effect of "Why don't you get plug-in instruments?"... son, you need to quit smoking drugs for awhile. You're just not gettin' it.

@@budg.6094 he said I could have the song. Seriously, he was sitting on the bed in Arthur Hatfield’s room listening to me and some other pickers and I asked him for the song. So it’s mine now.

@alanyoung2 Well it makes the instrument sound like crap in my opinion.
