When doing these projections, Giannis technically wasn't yet a Greek citizen, so they were still using his Nigerian name. The family took on the Greek version of their Nigerian name when they received citizenship. Which is a common practice in a lot of places.

that’s the proper Yoruba spelling of his last name. when his family moved to Greece, it was altered to match the Greek alphabet. he talks about it in a couple of interviews

I remember when Zion was coming into the league and people were saying he'd be winning MVPs in his 2nd or 3rd seasons LOL. Don't get me wrong, when he's on the court he's one of the best in the league but the problem is getting him on the court. I still want to see him go on a deep playoff run if he could get to 230lbs he'd be fine.
