Someone woke up and said “ hey not having stars at national races and charging promoters for the sanctioned event probably isn’t good”. Fine, points then suspension for repeat offenders.

I’m fully cognizant of the science and the possibilities of improving the process: A 1 gram fragmented sample of the tire is placed in a heated compartment (300°C ), in which a single adsorbent-coated fibre is suspended (PDMS). Volatile compounds, such as those in softening treatments, leave the tire sample at an appropriate temperature (280°C) and preferentially bind the coated fibre. Gas chromatography (hydrogen) separates the compounds on the fibre before they are analysed with mass spectrometry and compared with a catalogue of spectra (FTIR) analyzed illegal tire treatments, detergents and other known chemicals. There’s still massive room for improvement that can create more trust in the system. Yes the sample came back from the lab which agin is still results from the same lab. We typically don’t use the same lab and initiate the second sample should never go to the same lab. The lab should never go by a baseline sample from years ago and samples should always correlate to the same batch or date of MFG. that’s s fact. There’s also a need to to collect track samples to the hillbilly cocktails and professional consumer track treatments. This puts people at ease and reasonably so. I also created a system that not only allows better tracking of tires for series and tracks it also helps teams with management. Unfortunately the backwards veins that fuels this sport struggles to accept change, technology or admit things can be done better. They certainly don’t like to give outsiders and the small guy a listen.

we were treating tires back in the 80s on Late Models and Super stocks with a product called Liquid Launch. It was developed by a local Drag Racer in our area, Twin Cities and Brownstown speedways. It didnt seem to help the tires on Street Stocks . It kept the tires from Glazing under yellows , but they seemed to wear out faster and Blister easier. Nothing new, LOL

coming from a kart racing background, I can't understand why a car track has a rule of no chemical tire treatments allowed but will allow the karts on the same property to chemically alter their tires. In NY I've heard that it is an EPA/DEC regulation that chemically altered tire can not be used on an auto racing track. But at the same facility no one bats an eye that the karts are doing this. I see both sides of the argument but am thankful that I dont need $1500+ in chemicals in my trailer like I did while racing karts

I would like to speak on the tire prepping situation. A lot of people are talking bad about the tire people. Have u ever seen a real tire man/ setup man that can go to a racetrack and pick a racecar up 4 tenths to a half a second a lap. I have witnessed a guy in North Carolina that has prepped racecar tires and has been racing go carts for 35 years do this multiple times. The most track savviest guy that I have ever seen at a racetrack. I have seen him do drag car tires,dirt car tires, 4 time wka champion in his time. When he goes to a racetrack I would have to say he's the best there is in the business., they call this guy the Hillbilly Hustle out of the 252 area code. It's not illegal in his world. And it's not store bought, he mixes his own product. Late model people spend so much money on mothers instead of setup and tires it my opinion. Sounds like to me y'all need to get up with the Hillbilly Hustler. I seen him for years and he is the best there is in the business.

Tire company's need to become more involved with this issue,... even if it mean's from a liability standpoint of view,... to help eliminate the problem,.... when everything is about "money",.... they could help tremendously...........

I treated my tires 40 years ago when it was legal. Guys will do something for an advantage. The Rumley device, droop methods from bloomer or Rockets air shock. Its all good to keep reaching. We don't want to see IROC cars with follow the leader racing.

Here's the thing that wasn't asked or answered. How did they PROVE with 100% certainty beyond a reasonable doubt, that these 3 guys KNOWINGLY used a KNOWN doped tire? What if some team sells or swaps (underhandedly) a doped tire to one of these guys, unknown to them - and the test comes out dirty. Then they're on Rd 2 of punishment? There needs to be better control on the tires if these harsh penalties are to be handed down without being 100% POSITIVE the driver KNOWINGLY used a bad tire???

Tires tested positive for doping.The Teams knew it and that's that.Time to move on,those boys got caught,they paid their dues , lets race.I wish our legal system moved like this.Fast,Accurate and Fair.You can't wander past the GRAY AREA and not expect to pay a price.Brian is the right man for the job he has.2nd offense would be a foolish move.When you play in someone elses sandbox,you better play by the rules or don't come to play.

IMO. You had the chance to make an example out of these 3, to stop it. And you don’t. These guys are race car drivers. Not being able to race hurts them more than anything. Not $$ & points. WTF 🤦‍♂️

Great job Kenny! Just an idea,what about a tire contractor no tire can run that doesn't come from that contractor. Maybe one source would lower the per tire cost to the racers. Local racers would have to run tires from that truck. Keep everyone an level field.

Great Job Kenny, I had seen Bobby racing somewhere after all this happened I took it he couldn't race at any sanctioned event but I guess that's not true. They've always said rules were made to be broken and it's true ya gotta push the envelope but Hell it's to risky and expensive.🏁🇺🇸🏁👍

If there's a positive test at one lab, send the remaining sample to another lab for verification. What's the problem if there's only 3 that test positive for 3 of the biggest drivers in the biz... I think the extra $1200 would be a drop in the bucket for transparency.

I am a race fan. I think that the top 3 finishers tire should be checked. Top 3 need to be weighed ,body measured, engine checked. Spot check drivers for illegal substances. They fail tire test, engine check loss of 50% of points at the time of infraction, and a $$ fine.

Us Old Timers know the 3 Cardinal Rules of Nascar, Do not mess with the tires, do not mess with the fuel, do not mess with the engine. Penalties will be severe. I do believe you will be suspended, WoO seems to be a little less strict.

Here’s the question, if you are so confident in your lab, and the accuracy of the testing, why would you not uphold the original penalties and set the standard for all to see? This seems like A: We just pushed out some of our biggest names and that’s going to cost us. B: We say we trust our lab but in reality we’re not so sure so let’s back off and hope all this blows over and gets forgotten about.

All any competitors want is an equal playing field. Let the best legal car win. Winning while cheating isn't winning. I have been told repeatedly that in several classes outside of the WRG that virtually everyone is cheating especially in the engine department. I don't agree with that, but I keep hearing it. I just want to go out and have fun in a fair process. Great interview.

Kenny…. What about the track prep that was used? Could it have soaked the tires during the night? Bubba raceway owner has a video stating he saw this same issue at this track with track prep and failed tire samples.

RR tire must be bought at track and held by the track till 15 minutes before the feature.

My question and I hope I get an answer from somebody out there were those the only three people tested that night?

I got 100 questions I'd like to ask but will refrain because it's like beating a dead mule so I'll just ask my main one big important one. If this was any of the other drivers this happened too. Say this same infraction happened same dates same venue same race but the three drivers caught were Tristian Chamberlin, Parker Martin, and/or either Daniel Hilsabeck or Dustin Walker, would these three drivers have received the same chances that the three drivers that were caught were given? Would these drivers have been given the same appeals process and same hearings these top tier drivers were given? Would they have even made it in front of the appeals board? I'm not saying they wouldn't, I'm asking in true honesty and curiosity!!!!

According to the owner of eastbay it’s the track conditioner they use. He said if it was Tyler Erb then he’d say yes but devan Moran an absolute no. May wanna check with him and see what he uses cause they believe the track uses the same conditioner. He said he’s already been through it with tires he knows for certain wasn’t doped.
