Dozens of business owners in Kenosha are picking up the pieces after several nights of unrest in the city. They are doing this while other area residents make their way to the hardest hit areas to see the damage and destruction for themselves.

Riots make up literally less than 5% of the gatherings, so people with common sense can tell the difference. Nobody is claiming rioting as protesting unless they are ignorant or cannot come up with a viable synonym to prevent them from repeating their words.

@@Horible4 "The actions of a few;" these few have literally murdered thousands of people with little to no repercussions despite those motivated by civil unrest. Six hundred people have already been shot dead by the police this year while the number of people killed at protests and riots still sits at thirty two, most caused by the actions of armed citizens or police intervention. The fact that you would even insinuate that any group as prevalent as the cops can afford this many bad apples is completely asinine. They are all equipped with handguns, batons, tasers, pepper spray, knives, and shotguns, so its not like those "few" are likely to end up losing an altercation if one gets trigger happy. Of course, everyone can be a hypocrite if they are ignorant of the world around them.

@Berto G You are not ignorant for noticing riots; you are ignorant because you know nothing of what you are attempting to judge. Concerning the media, they were never too keen on broadcasting peaceful protests, as they are not very interesting, but they never forgot to broadcast the fact that they were taking place across the country, as well as throughout the world, even in disparate countries with others who are fighting an oppressive system. The reason that you seem to not realize something so obvious is likely because you were looking for the opposite. If you actually cared to educate yourself on something besides what you want to believe, then you may not be so inclined to type nonsense in place of realism.

In my opinion, wherever these destructive riots occurred (not just Kenosha), raise local and state taxes by 5% each and donate that revenue to those who suffered damage during the riots. That'll teach them to protest peacefully.

Insurance does not cover riots and arson. Unprotected businesses will not return to high risk areas. City revenue is cut. Parks and recreation, schools, public works, social services, all impacted. It's done. Those who can, have left or are leaving. Welcome to Detroit. Downtown will become a capitol for payday loans, pawn shops, and vacant lots. There will be no upscale shops for a long time.

All mayors and governors of these cities that allowed this to go on need to be held fully responsible!! Citizens should get them taken out of office immediately!! People risk everything they have to open and maintain businesses and it has been taken away from them, the rioters that have been arrested should NOT be able to make bail and made to be accountable for their actions!

I feel for the businesses. I know the insurance companies would cover the losses. They don't cover arson. Rioters set the fires which is arson. All of them need to be arrested and made to pay restitutions. Even if it 200 dollars a week out of their paychecks for life. They did it, they should have to pay.

We are Americans 1st, state citizens 2nd, county citizens 3rd, city/community citizens 4th. Our city/community has the 1st responsibility to guard our civil liberties, the county should be the next to fill the void left by the city/community, the State has the obligation of doing any job the county/city/community cannot handle, and FOREMOST the United States of America has the responsibility of protecting Americans when the State/County/City/Community fails to do so. There is NO excuse for our government's lack of action in these times of peril for the citizens of this country from the lawlessness of anarchists. Now comes the citizens of the United States of America, empowered by the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution to protect Life, Liberty and Property, and then having to deal with sinister government leaders who now want to enforce (laughable) 'Justice' on those citizens who protect their own. Don't know if it has happened yet, but there is gonna come, at some point, a lawyer who is going to start a class-action lawsuit against the United States of America defending the thousands of citizens against the inaction of the government for NOT protecting their rights as taxpaying citizens of the USA.

I'm not backing the rioters I'm just saying that mobs react differently than individuals. Defending your home,family, and personal property are one thing but going out of state with a loaded rifle expecting you might have to use it is illegal in every state. Batman might be a good guy but he's still a felon. I feel sorry for this kid. What type of militia command would post a 17yr old on a dangerous detail by himself.
